3rd time lucky 🀞🏼

Hi All,

So this will be the 3rd time that I'm starting couch to 5k... I managed to get to week 8 last Yr and then hurt my back and that put me out for weeks... It was such a struggle to start again so the months passed. Tried to pick it up again but no luck... This week I had enough of feeling lazy and unfit so have started all over again. I completed my 2nd run of week 1 today and felt good about it.

Yes well done! I think starting again after time out is so impressive. Takes courage to go back to the beginning again and commit. You got this :-)

Well hello and welcome back. Well done πŸ‘ on your re-start.

Have been to see a sport physiotherapist about your back. It could be something to do with your running action. Now that shops will be re-opening soon, it could be your trainers. I wouldn’t want you to be laid low again with your back I want to succeed and complete the programme.

Hey... Thanks for the concern. No it had nothing to do with the running. I was putting my son to bed and it just went... I've fully recovered now thanks. I've seen a physiotherapist in the past for it, but may be a good idea to pay them a visit again, thanks.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Good on you for having the gumption to start again, after your setback last year. You have all your previous experience to build on (and to pass on!) and I’m sure it’s already starting to lift your spirits right back up just by getting back on track! Enjoy! πŸ˜€πŸ‘β˜€οΈ
