3 years on... 3rd time lucky!

Can't believe I'm actually writing this, but after 3 or 4 attempts over as many years (thwarted by injury), I finally completed wk9 run 3 today after starting out again in March!!! So to everyone contemplating wk1 run 1, and to anyone doubting themselves - you can do this!!

So it wasn't easy or a pretty sight (I stupidly thought it was ok to run in the midday heat) - there were concerned looks from walkers passing by (yes I was going that slow) as I shambled through the last 5 minutes, glowing neon pink, sweat and mascara pouring down my face, grinning like an absolute idiot. But I did it.

I don't know what made it so different this time round - maybe the fact I took 2 days rest between each run to stay injury free, maybe because I finally realised it was as much mental conditioning as physical. And I finally learned to slow right down. I didn't post on this forum as I was scared it would jinx things (I know, irrational or what?!), so I lurked and drew inspiration from the amazing support on this site.

Just wanted to share this, as I would never, ever have contemplated being able to run 30mins non-stop as I gasped my way through 60seconds 3 months ago. The programme is brilliant and I hope this will inspire orhers.

Now where do I get my graduation badge?!

Congratulations. I had to do the programme twice due to injury and I admire you for your persistence, I think it was in some ways harder second time. But you've made it so keep it up and just build gradually on your running. Good luck.

A huge congratulations to you! It is an amazing achievement ! I took two goes too due to injury but determination and being sensible with resting does get you there! Welcome to the free running world!
