Hi there๐คฉ๐คฉ. I only joined last week and now on week 2!! You'll get so much support via this community ๐๐. Good luck ๐๐๐
Welcome! Iโm only a week ahead of you. Iโve just completed the first run of week 2. The hardest run so far was the first - I set off too fast In my enthusiasm and made it harder for myself. Slow it right down! Get out there and trust the programme! You wonโt be unfit for long.
Welcome and well done ๐
Hi ๐๐ป ๐
Iโm SO unfit. When I first did the first run I came back and thought I was going to be sick! But now Iโve just finished week 7 and can run for 25 mins with no stopping!
Youโve just got to trust the programme and keep going and youโll get there! Everyoneโs got to start somewhere ๐
Good luck with your journey! Just know if I can do it you most certainly can too!
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Relax and enjoy your journey.
Read the guide and trust the program. Listen to your body but do expect some discomfort as your body and mind adapt. It is not a race so repeat weeks, if necessary, until you are comfortable at that level.
I found the hardest part to be starting! Good luck and enjoy it.
Hiya and first of all well done for deciding to do this, that's one of the hardest points!
I'm almost 48, overweight, horribly unfit-well that was me 7 weeks ago anyway. Today I ran for 25 mins non stop, the third time I've done that now ๐ never, ever in my wildest dreams did I expect I could do any of the programme, let alone get to this point!
Before you start, read the guide, look through some posts on here and go for it. I had to repeat the first day as I tried to run too fast and couldn't do more than two of the one minute runs. I then found out about Japanese Slow Running and never looked back.
I honestly didn't think I'd be any good/able to do it. My daughter encouraged me to give it a go and I'll be forever grateful because it turns out I can do it and I actually enjoy it too. Trust in the programme and in a few weeks this will be you writing an encouraging post to a newbie ๐
Let us know how you get on!
Welcome and well done for doing something for yourself. I started 6 weeks ago and as with others struggled to start but now I can run for 25 minutes. It's INCREDIBLE how your body will adapt. Even if you think you can't carry on, just keep going. We're all there with you. Good luck and enjoy the journey!
Welcome ๐
