Ok I have completed Day 1 of Week and I feel virtuous
The aim is to loose some weight, get fitter and to be able to run in and complete my daughters' school compulsory cross country run which is 7.5 miles long. You have got to start somewhere!

Well done Cottongirl!
You may only be one session in so far but that is the hardest - getting out there and getting started.
If you are completely new to running then it may take a while to get up to 7.5 miles cross-country,* but c25k is a great way to get started. Just keep it steady and within a few weeks you will be running further and longer than you realised you ever could.
Good luck - and happy running!

* your quote allows very easily googling for the relevant event so if you are actually trying to conceal which school you are talking about you might like to paraphrase it.
Thanks I have edited it. I am not in a rush and I have 5 years to practice
Hopefully it won't take 5 years!
You could probably work up to 7.5miles comfortably within a year but if you run regularly you will continue to become more resilient for years after that - might be handy for a tough cross-country race - so starting well in advance and making it a routine is a great plan. It's excellent for your general health too.
Let us know how you get on as you go.
Good luck for R2!

Well done for making such a smart move!
Don't expect to lose any weight just from running, though. What tends to happen is your weight becomes stable, your body fat reduces, and your muscles (legs mostly) develop. You could even put some weight on. If you want to lose weight, running is a great companion to some kind of diet or move to healthier eating.
Sorry to be a damp squib!
Good to start at all! Well done, looking forward to hearing all about ur journey, Laura has fantastic advice and you can search the posts by the weeks so you can share from all those who have gone before u! 7.5 miles, that's about 10 km, wow, when is that 😖 Julie
I didn't lose much weight while doing c25k, but I do watch the diet, (fats & sugars) but am not obsessed by it, and find running 3 times a week does help to keep the weight down...
Go for it. You'll be great
You are in the right place. You will be amazed
Compulsory cross-country?!?!? Wow!
That's the hardest session! Making that decision to start and then standing by it
How are you getting on. This is day 4 for me and so far so good. I use my fitness pal to calculate my calories as I find this much easier. Good luck with the running too. Well done you for making a start.
