Hi everyone I just took my first run...I sort of made it!!! Ha Ha! I fell short of my 60 seconds in the running segments maybe about 20 seconds worth for 3 times, but walked through. Maybe better next time!
The Newbie Takes Her First Run :): Hi everyone... - Couch to 5K
The Newbie Takes Her First Run :)
Well done..we have all been Newbies..we know what it is like...you just did the hardest bit...starting!
Onward...and slow and steadyxxxx
Well done for taking those first steps
Slow and steady, and have another go - you can do this!
You keep on with the programme and I promise you will have "graduate" beside your name here and be as astonished as some of the rest of us still are when we see it beside ours
Well done - you will be better each time! Great idea to get started!
You've just done the best thing ever - got started! We've all been there and we'll all be here, to cheer you on, every step of the way Well done!
It maybe your running too fast slow your pace. Well done for starting
But you got out there. Well done. 👍Give run 1 another try, but slow down a bit. You can't run too slowly in the beginning 🏃♀️
Well done! The first runs do seem hard, you probably can't imagine yourself running for 30 minutes, but trust the programme and you will! The hardest part is starting - and you've done that! X
Slow and steady wins the day...think tortoise, not hare Take it one run at a time and you'll do fine
Great words from all above. Well done for starting and for posting. Slow and steady is the key. Don't think speed, think endurance. Can't wait to see you graduate! Lots of luck and ENJOY 😊 it. 👏🏻👏🏻
Congratulations you started and you will make progress. Just take it slow and steady. I thought I would probably die after the first run but I didn't and graduated.
Brilliant that you got out there and had a go at it. Hope you do a bit more next time.
Thanks everyone!!! Has anyone else experienced the need for extra recovery time? Longer than the 1 day between runs? The tops of my feet running into the lower part of the front of my legs hurt a lot, so I waited to run again. Planning on starting over tomorrow. Maybe someone knows what I did wrong as I ran to get this for so long? I had 3 days recovery instead of one! I'm ok now, but was afraid I might be injuring myself somehow. I really want to accomplish this, so I took caution to make sure I could continue. Ideas?
Have you got proper running shoes? I know I bore on and on about this but they are so important. Just any old trainers won't do...you'll need them eventually anyway if you're going to stick with running, may as well bite the bullet and get them now. You might get a bargain in the sales...
I never thought of that! I wonder if it "could" be my shoes? They are new ones, but on the less expensive side. How do you tell f a shoe will be good enough for the running impact? Thanks!
You go to a sport shop, and they put you on the treadmill and film you! Don't worry, it's not so bad as it sounds, they can then check your running style and advise on shoes. Most shops offer a 30 day guarantee on shoes they have recommended (check first before buying) you can't get a better service than that!
