4th time lucky?

Hi all, Last night finished the C25K for the 4th time in 5 years..

Clearly there’s an issue as I don’t seem to develop enough of a habit and ultimately give up. When I take up the challenge again, i genuinely need to start at week 1 again as I’ve lost all fitness and it’s hard work!

Any ideas on how I carry on beyond the initial 9 weeks, I know for sure that I like the structure of the programme and the cajoling from Laura. Thanks for your help.

By the way can I have a graduation badge please? 😊

Congratulations on your graduation, fellow runner.

This guide to post C25k running may be helpful healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Keep posting here and we will keep you running.

Create targets and challenges to yourself for the short, medium and long term.

Keep running, keep smiling

How about continuing with the 5-10k programme? My friend is doing it and doing really well

Thanks for that. Does it it have the same structure. I.e. Laura guidance/support etc i guess what I mean, Is it provided by the same NHS Choices app? Thanks again L

I’m not sure which app she uses but there’s lots of C210k out there that builds up to 10k in the same way as c25k. Sorry I can’t be more help

the guide that IannodaTruffe posted tells you eeeeverything you need to know! For what it's worth, I'd say it sounds like you identified the issue - you haven't built up the habit just yet. So it seems like consolidation right now would be the name of the game - your target each week is to do 3 x 30 min runs, every week. At some point, you may find it's a habit. Then dive into the rest of the advice on that guide, including perhaps progressing to 10K (you know, there's a Bridge to 10K forum on here...)

If you like Laura, and who doesn't, why not keep running with her! You can keep using the week 9 runs on the app/podcast, no-one says you have to stop! You could even mix it up with one of the other voices on the app :)

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated. I’ll take all your advice. 3 x 30 mins it is with Laura on week 9 👍🏻
