Did my first ever run of week one today! I was exhausted 10mins into the run/walk. Does anyone have tips for motivation? X

Just started...any tips?
Well done for starting. The main advice you will get from everyone is to go very slowly. If you are exhausted then you were probably running too fast.
Good luck.
Get some good music to run to and trust the programme. It works!
Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Motivation is the only thing we cannot provide......that has to come from you.
Write down all the reasons why you want to start and have a look at the list every time you have a wobble.
This plan can change your life, but you have to want it to.
Enjoy your journey.
Welcome and well done 👍 You have done the best thing for your health.
The mantra of the forum is to let your inner tortoise shine through. So go slow, and if possible even slower. You inner tortoise 🐢 is going to be your best friend. We will be your support system through your highs and low. So keep posting, and enjoy 😉.
Slow down and slow down again
Yes I agree with Roxdog slowly does it - don’t run too fast. Build up your stamina and don’t worry about your pace. Good luck - you can absolutely do this. 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️👍
All of the above, plus walk as fast as you can manage 👍🏻
I'm at week 7 and I found it helpful to not look ahead to the next week until I was due to start it. Sometimes the thought of those bigger runs can fill you with dread and make you think you cant do it when you actually can! Learnt that the hard way so dont copy me!
All the above / below advice! For me it’s absolutely music that got me through. But above everything...🐢🐌!! Enjoy and keep us posted 🙂
Motivation? What was your motivation for starting? I'd rely on that
But motivation will get only so far. What's better is making a habit of getting out of the door.
