Good for you. I graduated some time ago now and I am 53! I battled through C25K like a hippo but I did it and now run three times every week. I feel so much more confident and energetic. Look after your legs by running nice and slowly and all the best. I also wanted to lose a bit of timber but ended up gaining weight because I treated myself for running with bacon! All under control now though, I am using a calorie counting App which is free called My Fitness Pal which has helped me no end

Well done! I am sure you'll get there (I am just over halfway and aiming for a park run too).

Good for you. I am a year younger and am at week 8 and on track to keep my pledge to run with my daughter when she is home from university at Christmas. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other, I am sure you will be surprised at how quickly the weeks go by.

Brilliant decision and great goals! I graduated mid sept and am building distance slowly, but now up to 6k despite being on the IC for a couple of weeks. Im in my 60th year and have registered for my first 10k race in march to celebrate my big birthday . If i can do it anyone can!

Keep reading, keep posting but most of all keep running πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»πŸ‘Ÿ

Well done for starting this brilliant program. Slow and steady is the order of the day and I have no doubt that as you progress the 'timber' will start to resolve itselfπŸ˜‰

Parkruns are a great aim, you can join at any stage but I kept my first one for my graduation run as I was determined to run the whole distance. I can honestly say when I started that aim was impossible to imagine but Laura will get you there, just keep going one step at a time. And think how impressed your daughters will be πŸ˜ƒ

Welcome! I'm just a little younger than you, also have 2 daughters, wish I could drag them with me (but they do so much other sport and getting up at 6am is probably a game changer for them) so I drag my dog around with me instead. Well done for your first run and keep posting on here you'll find lots of encouragement. :) Bex x

I started this week too, and have been looking at park runs, ever the optimist!

Well done, keep going x

Well I'm 1 year behind you and 8 weeks ahead if you see what I mean. You've already done the hardest part! Keep with the programme and you will feel the benefit! For real weight loss though you will need to cut the calories. Good luck.

Well done on beginning the programme and good luck for the following weeks. It will be hard but persevere and don't give up! It is worth it and you will make progress that you never believed was possible!

Well done for starting to train, I didn't know this program existed until I finally achieved my 1st 5k training run, I'm also going to do a park run , it's good to set a goal. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ
