I did it!

Wahoo! Done ✅ wasn’t my best run as I hoped it would but that doesn’t matter. Can’t believe how I couldn’t run for a minute months ago and now this. So...what next?...

Congratulations! Next... celebrate! Then it’s recommend to do some consolidation work, which will give you a break from the relentless progression... ideally you want to be running 30 minutes until it becomes an easy/comfortable run. Consolidation is also recommended every few months, so if you’re thinking of running longer, it’s good to fit in after your next milestone. This time will allow you to decide where you want to take this... maybe you’ll run up mountains, maybe you’ll go for an ultramarathon, maybe 10k, or maybe stick to 5k/30 minutes... there’s lots of choices and obviously they’re not all mutually exclusive. The main thing is that you enjoy doing it. You’ll have lots of running adventures... enjoy them all.

Is there a particular app you would recommend for consolidation? I’ve looked at bridge to 10k but not sure which is the one to use.

Basically you could use the C25K app and hit up the week 9 runs... or you can use any of the run trackers to give you updates and tell you when it’s over. The bridge to 10k plan is awesome... if/when you decide to do it the version for you is determined by how far you’re running, and possibly also time constraints... most people who are comfortably running 5k will choose the distance version, others are comfortably running 30 minutes and haven’t yet reached 5k, so the timed version is ideal. If you do the timed one, you can then measure your runs at the end and drop onto the distance one at the right point.

Woohoo. Well done 👍🏻 I’ve heard a few people mention 10k options only to find it less fun and giving up. For me m, when I get there I’m plan to just continue doing wk9 for a while ... increase stamina and speed. Don’t want to make things so hard I loose enthusiasm.
