Week 1 in the bag!

Whoop whoop!!

Just back from final run of week one and feel fantastic.

Yeah I know it isn’t the London Marathon but who knows, maybe one day it will be...... (not!) 🤣

I tried the couch to 5k a couple of years ago and gave up almost immediately because I felt so unfit, too slow, useless, pathetic etc.

This time I found this forum and know that these emotions are normal and not just me. So that makes me even more determined having read so many inspirational stories on here.

Anyway, just want to say thank you to each and every one of you for being in my life and for the support and advice.

Sounding pathetic I know , but as someone who has diabetes, anxiety and who is nursing a palliative parent I find joy in the smallest success.

Huge hugs to all........ from a distance of course. 😀

Not bad for a chunky monkey. 🤣

Getting off the couch is the hardest part! I start week 8, tomorrow! With all the endorphins you’ll get from this, you’ll be a happier, maybe not so chunky monkey! I don’t think I’ve shed a pound since I started & im cycling as well! I just need to put a lock on the fridge or wire my jaw up! 😂

Hahahahaha

Yeah well I am used to walking 6-8k a day with the dog so not expecting miracles but the endorphins are a boost.

With the diabetes I carry the weight around the middle. Kinda look like a spider. Ok arms and legs and a round body. Hahahaha

Well done you with the cycling as well.

I’m doing a trek with pooch later and may try to fit in a dance dvd.

With blinds closed and door locked of course. Only so much humiliation I can share lol

Sod what anybody thinks! I tried the Joe Wicks PE lessons before I started couchto5k! I could barely walk up & down stairs, had to shuffle up & down, but I was rocking the spider man lunge! Enjoy your day!
