Plumpish, asthmatic and in my 60s I have just completed run 3 week 5 with puff to spare. This is astonishing. I found it deeply unpleasant for the first couple of weeks and repeated two of the runs on week 4 before moving on, but I am gobsmacked and even starting to like it! My calves and knees don’t hurt any more (now I stretch properly first). Amazing. Husband thought I was nuts but now chuffed to bits and cheering me on!

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5 Weeble, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran.

You were so right about my next run -- I would have been worried if you hadn't warned me! I was pooped!

Fantastic! I'm not at the enjoyment stage yet. Did week 7 run 1 yesterday. I find it an effort to get out there most days, but I do feel as if I'm beginning to tone up a bit, so will keep at it. Good luck. 😊
