Wk2r3 done, and astonished that I have

My journey so far: Wk1r1 willing it all to end . . no more not another step, my hurting shaky legs, pounding heart, need to stop - and that was only 30 seconds into the the first run of the first run! I do not know what drove me to finish that session. Perhaps cos I was out there trainers on 5mins 30sec from home (!) or the realisation that I was part of the statistic that "41% of brits do less than 10 mins exercise per month" and/or being 50+ and fat+. Now 3 runs in to week 2 and 5x 90sec continous slooow 'running' is, well, fine! No where near as hard as wk1. How has this happend so quickly? Its maybe too early to say and I hope I don't jinx it, but I think I could become hooked on this running malarkey.

Be good to hear what has driven otherd to stick to the program.

With you all the way! I think it's sheer bloody-mindedness and the determination to finally become the best me I can be!

Totally get where your coming from. I don't know how this program does it but it just makes gets you from one week to the next and run by run you start to believe in yourself and that is the most amazing feeling ever!! 🤗🤗

Of course you have to put the running in and along with the wonderful encouragement from the people on this forum and the virtual coach, my favour is Mr Smooth aka Michael Johnson, you will achieve the ultimate goal which is to run for 30 mins and then think of the celebration you can have 🎉

Happy running 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

Know this: given the slightest chance and movement, your body will get FITTER FAST. Bodies are AMAZING. I was at the same place as you (well not quite as old, I'm not quite to 50 yet) and now 6 weeks later (4 weeks before you -- just finished W6R3) - I can RUN (slowly of course) for 25 minutes!!!! It's just INCREDIBLE. The fact that I improve on every single run is keeping me going.

I completely agree, it is incredible how the improvement occurs with each run -presumably the rest days must be very significant (?) I assume it is then is when our bodies respond.

Have you just completed week 1? How's it going? I did a 4th session for wk1 as I was still gasping for air on the 3rd session - seemed to pay off.

Hello, well done for fourth run. Few people on here seem very passionate about the design of programme so am trying to stick with it as far as possible. Potential slip today as did not do strength and flexibility. Boyf went to gym, I did yoga. All set for W2R1 tomorrow though - boyf away so running alone for first time
