How do you listen to the app and spotify without having to hold your phone in your hand?

I am enjoying listening to the app and music via spotify whilst running, but looking for a way to avoid having to hold my phone in my hand. How do people manage this? Is an armband the way forward or can anyone recommend a smartwatch that can play the app and spotify via wireless headphones without having to take my phone out at all?

I wear a bumbag! Not as fashionable as a smart watch or arm band I'm sure. I have used an arm band but found it more distracting.

You can get some discreet running belts on amazon.

Good luck!

I run in jogging bottoms with a zip pocket, but an armband should do! Best of luck

I spent less than £5 on a running belt. It clips around your waist and has two zip pockets to hold your phone, keys, debit card, tissues, sweets etc.

Mine is very slim but made of stretch lycra like fabric that expands to hold whatever it is you need to carry and you don't even know it's there when running. I wouldn't run without it now. I really didn't fancy an armband as your arms are actually pretty important when running and I'm pretty small framed and with an iPhone 8 would be a nuisance both weight and size wise strapped to my arm.

There are lots of running belts available and you don't have to spend a lot. Give it a go, I'd highly recommend them.

Thanks very much everyone for responses. A running belt is a good that I hadn't considered! Will give that a shot.

Happy running 🏃‍♂️💨👟

I hate running belts but I buy leggings or shorts with a big pocket.

Welcome to the forum.

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

I use a belt. It is not advisable to hold anything in your hands when running.

Enjoy your journey.
