Week 8 run 3 ❌

Ahhh frustrating that I didn’t manage to complete this one, loads of factors really but maybe should have left it another day as my legs were sore from doing the run on Saturday which I managed to complete but I decided to change my route today ( I normally drive to a flat run couple of miles from my house) it was full of hills and although I did run for a time period of 28 minutes I did stop 3 times for 3 x mins walking so I will repeat this one on Wednesday if my legs are recovered in time, still upbeat and proud of myself as when I think back to 8 weeks ago I genuinely couldn’t run 90 seconds, so the programme does definitely work but it wouldn’t be a challenge without a few hiccups along the way eh , will let you know how I get on 👍🏻😊

Well done 👍 for trying. These little hiccups are part of the learning process. You will get it next time.

Well done for getting out there and trying when your legs still felt sore.

Do you do much stretching after? I am finding that is helping now I am doing it straight after.

I was wondering whether to drive and try somewhere different to run but thinking leave it as it is for the rest of the plan.

We have come so far already! No rush to finish and it would be so annoying to pick up an injury at this stage.

Good luck for your next run!

Thanks Maddie

I do a fair bit of stretching but one thing I did try different after my run was to sit on my exercise bike and cycle slow for 10 mins at the lowest setting and today my legs are actually feeling better (I read on google that some footballers do this after games and helps with there recovery)

I will go back to my tried and tested route tomorrow

How are you getting on ?

That’s sounds like a good idea. Glad it’s helped too.

I managed it, but it was hard.

It was my first evening run. I am trying to change the time of day I run so I can keep it up when I need to fit around what was normal life!

Well done on getting the run done 👍🏻

I’m in the same boat with having to fit the runs in when we all go back to normal as work 8am to 5.30, but will try and find a way to keep this up even if I can only get 2 runs in a week , do prefer a morning run through !

Thank you.

Yes, got to find a way to keep it up somehow.

Yes running first thing sets you up and no excuses either :)

Well done. Yes it sounds like maybe the combination of sore legs and new hills were the culprit. No worries, give yourself a rest and you’ll get it done! Like your easy bike ride, sometimes just a short easy walk on a rest day works the same way. Best of luck with your continued progress 👍🏼👏
