Week 8 Run 3

Completed this morning. In fact I was back home before my alarm went off at its usual time of 6.30.

The run went well and I ran at a very consistant pace throughout and was able to put in a little kick at the end. That is not as good as it sounds as my last couple of minutes are downhill. Although I feel I have earned that downhill stretch earlier in the run.

Barring injury or illness I now know that I will complete next week's runs but I don't anticipate either. In fact I know that I will be able to run 5k and for 30 minutes. Just not at the same time.

Who would have thunk that was possible to make such progress in two months ago?

Two rest days then into the final week on Monday. Have a great weekend whether you are running or resting.

  • Well done - sounds like you have this sorted!

I'm doing my WK8 R3 at Parkrun tomorrow, I'm still amazed at how brilliant this programme is!

What's your post graduation plan? I'm a bit concerned about keeping up the momentum....

  • First of all to make running for 30 mins a week a habit. And probably to increase the pace over time. I cannot commit to much more time so I think if I was to run for longer I might stop. And I don't want to do that. I need to shift more weight too.

  • 30 mins 3 times a week

  • Well done. Have a great rest weekend before the grand finale. Any graduation celebration plans?

  • Thank you Iben. Perhaps some new running shoes to celebrate.

  • Great idea, I did the same! Just don't do what I did - hurt myself during gait analysis and ended up on the injury couch!

  • Good effort I am going to enjoy the two days rest and make sure I am fit an able to finish see you on the start bright and early on Monday

  • SeeSee you there but maybe not quite as early as you.

  • Might try and go out a bit later but can only allow 15 mins at most from normal time so 5am not a lot of difference really

  • Great stuff, good luck for next week.

  • Thanks Polly.

  • Excellent, so close now. Good luck in your last week ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Congrats Nightingale! The incremental progression of this programme is unbelievable isn't it? I second your "who'd a thunk it". Back before the alarm went off though? You'll be finishing the runs before you even start them soon! See you in week 9 :)
