Having run for 20 minutes last week I thought wk6 run 1 would be a doddle as it's so much less running all at once. I had read people saying it was difficult but foolishly I thought I could do it without too much trouble. How wrong! This is actually the first session that I've completed when I really thought I wouldn't get to the end. (Although I did) So my serious question is what happens during run 1 and I'm assuming 2 ofvweek 6 that makes it so difficult? Can't say I'm looking forward to run 2 but I'm not giving up now! Thanks everyone in advance.
Why was that Wk6 run so hard?: Having run for... - Couch to 5K
Why was that Wk6 run so hard?
No-one has figured it out yet but we suspect it's very much a psychological thing, having achieved 20 minutes of continuous running in W5R3.
Thanks for your reply. I'm sure you're right. Pride comes before a fall - as they say. I'm keeping on though
One twenty minute run does not a runner make...............but the elation of that run possibly creates the illusion that you have cracked this running thing...........so, as John_W says, largely psychological.
Congratulations on completing your longest workout to date..........although that is not the reason people struggle, because often it is the first half of the session that is found hard.
Well don, you did it.
👋🏻 I felt the same and have run 3 tomorrow, although I have cracked open the wine so may delay that 😬
We are nearer to graduating than we are where we were at the beginning. We are almost there.
Well done on W6 R2 👏🏼👏🏼
