Week 2 done, but not feeling too hopeful for next week

So I've completed Wk 2, but the last run I've had to slow down a bit due to just not feeling great. I think my nutrition and hydration has gone out the window this week, so I'm hoping that just looking after myself a bit more between runs, that will help.

Going for 3 minutes continuously is haunting but I'Il give it my best on Monday morning. I need to plan out a good route as I feel that is going to feel like a huge stretch of time. Any tips for the increase?

Thanks 🤗 really enjoying this community!

Well done to have the drive to stick with it. I run with a small water bottle so if you feel the need for liquid you can take a sip. Michael Johnson will talk to you about technique in week 2 or 3 so listen out for his tips. Good music tunes may help and keep looking at that next lamp post or tree in the distance - you are going to make it.

Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.

You are doing great, but you need to trust the plan and believe in the amazing ability of your incredible body to adapt, develop and overcome the demands. This is as much a mental challenge as it is physical. This post may help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You can do this.

I'm just about to finish 2 tomorrow.

You said it yourself if your hydration nutrition is out the window that's probably the reason. But don't beat yourself up that's just life, still going out for the run means your making the change.

And if you take yourself back to w1r1 you probably wouldn't have imagined you being able to do what you have right now.

I find working on breathing for 10 min before a run really helps and a good playlist

You've got this

Yeah, definitely think it was the food (or the wrong kind of food...heavy and thats made me feel sluggish) but yes, still giving myself the pat on the back for getting out and getting it done. This was after not doing it yesterday which was my actual run day because I felt awful. So it had to be done today otherwise I am fairly sure I would have given up.

You're doing great! I find it easier to run for a bit longer rather than the quick start-stop of the earlier weeks but remember to start off really slow and steady, you can always speed up towards the end if you have anything left in the bag.

Yeah, increase hydration and rest up this weekend. I'm sure you'll smash week 3 😊
