Did week 9 run 1 last night, took on board all your comments and had THE BEST RUN YET!! Concentrated on a steady consistent slow pace, little steps and in the last 5 mins felt fab so cranked it up a bit. Felt really warmed up, no aches and actually ran on a couple of minutes over the 30. Also had tea a couple of hours before I ran in the evening and had much more energy than I normally would after eating very little during the day and then trying to run as soon as I get in from work so maybe the extra fuel helped too. New mindset now. I CAN do this AND actually enjoy it!! Thank you all SO much for your feedback. And heres a little pic of me looking sweaty but happy! 😁
I need a kick, please give me one! I'm now about to start week 9. I have completed every single run and have literally gone from someone who couldn't jog for a few steps without being exhausted to 28 mins running so I am proud but I'm still finding it sooo hard and I'm anxious before every run. Takes me a good 10 mins for my heart/breathing to settle down.I have no idea how I'm gonna pull the final extra 2 minutes out of the bag next week. I'm going very slowly and running at the coolest time if day because at 15st I find the heat makes me feel a bit peculiarnif I run when it's very hot. Laura (my c25k app coach) has been awesome so far but I feel like I'm really struggling which is depressing when I should feel elated and some of her enthusiasm seems to have waned too! Help!!

Hey SS, well done for getting to the final week! I just finished week 9 last night. I didn’t actually find it as hard as week 8, ok the first 5 minutes are always grim, but I just keep going (slowly) and let my legs do the work while I listen to some great music on my headphones. Are you listening to the right music to encourage you?
Thank you for your advice, totally agree the first bit is hard, think I've just hit a bit of a wall in that I'm still finding it such a slog. Hopefully week 9 will be better, in the early runs I really fixated on the thought that the previous run had given me the fitness I needed for the next run and that really helped me through. I'm really into my music anyway and without my running playlist I probably would have found it even harder. Gotta keep pushing on I guess! Well done on your success too, you must feel amazing to have nailed that final run. What next for you run-wise?
Hey Slowshuffle, I finished week 9 this morning. I found Week 8 the hardest week of the programme; week 9 felt like a mental game of telling myself I can complete another 2 minutes to finish. I enjoyed this week so much! You want Week 9 to be your victory dance - you’ve achieved SO much in the last few weeks - look how far you’ve come!
My advice - earphones in, head up, get enough breaths in, and enjoy yourself - you can do this! I really hope you surprise yourself as much as I did this week!!
In case you didn’t know, these are the kicks you requested! Listen to yourself!!! Week 9! That’s amazing, I’m two weeks behind and find it tough every day but remember where you have come from. You should not be kicking yourself but patting yourself on your back. Well done. Keep running, the more you do the easier it will be....that’s what they say, so it must be true, right?
Hi I know how u feel I'm on wk 9 next week and at just over 14 stone when I started I have actually lost 9lb in weight, just go really slow if u have to for the last few minutes as they say it's the distance not the speed, I never in a million years thought I could complete this, well done and keep it up u can do this 😁
Come on Slowshuffle you should feel inflated not deflated! You’ve run non stop for 28 minutes, which is a massive achievement in itself, 2 minutes more is nothing believe me, you’ve got this, go out there and smash it....graduation day is now in sight 👍💪🏻👊
You are amazing! Well done for completing week 8! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻you have nearly got your🏅
You CAN do this. Slow down and keep going. I finally watched the Japanese Slow jogging video that some people recommend on here and it has changed how I think about running and speed. I even ordered the rather expensive book about it.
You can do this.. I completed last week. Its just 2 more minutes added on to the hard work you've already done you won't notice it xxx go out and crack it xxxx 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
