Yesterday evening I completed week 2 day 3. It’s been a mixed week. I flew through the first run last Thursday. Sunday was awful! I got up late and ended up running in the sun after eating (mistake). I’d also woken up with a sore throat, which didn’t help. I managed to finish but it was a real struggle. Yesterday my husband had to work late so I went alone and got through it.
I really felt my motivation drop off a bit this week. The novelty has worn off I knew that would happen and I keep telling myself it’s important to just keep going anyway and create a habit. I’m trying to look at it in the way that I’m not always going to feel like running or exercise. Some days, especially if it’s raining or if I had a long day at work, I am going to rather sit on the couch. But I want to become disciplined enough that I will work through the negative thoughts and just go out and run anyway. That has always been an issue for me in the past, I give up way too easily. Focusing on how good I feel after the run is keeping me going for now. Bring on week 3!
