Week 2 done!

Yesterday evening I completed week 2 day 3. It’s been a mixed week. I flew through the first run last Thursday. Sunday was awful! I got up late and ended up running in the sun after eating (mistake). I’d also woken up with a sore throat, which didn’t help. I managed to finish but it was a real struggle. Yesterday my husband had to work late so I went alone and got through it.

I really felt my motivation drop off a bit this week. The novelty has worn off :) I knew that would happen and I keep telling myself it’s important to just keep going anyway and create a habit. I’m trying to look at it in the way that I’m not always going to feel like running or exercise. Some days, especially if it’s raining or if I had a long day at work, I am going to rather sit on the couch. But I want to become disciplined enough that I will work through the negative thoughts and just go out and run anyway. That has always been an issue for me in the past, I give up way too easily. Focusing on how good I feel after the run is keeping me going for now. Bring on week 3!

The couch cushions your bum. Your bum gets comfortable and says ' why move?' . Then one day you realise the couch and your bum have merged. To be honest running with a couch stuck to your bum is much harder than running without it.

So go for W3 don't become a couch bum....

I often wondered what that was dragging me down, why I couldn't get out of the door... now I know - couch bum!!! Love it!!

Don't allow yourself time to think yourself out of it. Get home, get changed, get out! Before your brain can persuade you otherwise. And before the couch starts making eyes at your bum!

Some runs are fab and some runs are challenging. You have the right attitude (and self knowledge :) ) . Developing a running habit will take a little time but when you have it; it's gonna be great (as president trump might say!)

Go you... you have everything you need there inside you...just let it out.... and if it wants to stay there.... ignore it :)

Try And make it a habit...the couch will feel so much more comfy after you've been out...what's half an hour? My best runs have been after a tough day at work, and the very best one was in the rain!! Try and Stick with it you will not be disappointed. 😊
