Educating Enid - Seek pleasure from the quieter things in life, if running isn't an option.

My inner Enid and I will have to learn to seek pleasure in smaller and quieter things as running isn't an option for the next 6 - 8 weeks.

Pride comes before a fall and I tripped on a pavement and broke my arm. So Enid and I will be back on the couch for a bit (and finding a different way to exercise πŸ€•) just until we can do the programme again maybe at the end of June.

So to all my / our wonderful running friends...happy running, take care and watch your feet...or rather don't.😎

That is such a shame, but you obviously still have your drawing hand so can keep yourself gainfully occupied.

Who knows what we will be able to do in six weeks time..........

Keep safe, keep well, keep smiling.

Thank you so much, Ian. Yes, indeed...right handed but saved face with my left. 😹 So I appreciate how lucky I am. 😎 Take care, too.

The nurses always manage to be so nice don't they in spite of the pressures they are under.

Yes, I was so impressed with how kind they were in A&E. Doctor included (who put the plaster on himself). In and out, then two follow up phone calls the next day. So caring. 🌈

Oh dear poor you, it felt wrong to "like" your post. I hope it's as they say a clean break and that it isn't too painful. Sending you a virtual (gentle) hug x

Thank you so much, dijep. Not too bad and in the scheme of things...I know I am lucky. Keep on running. πŸ‘€πŸ‘£

Oh no! I’m sorry to read this. How sad Enid looks πŸ˜”. Now I know what your comment meant the other day πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ.

I hope you aren’t in too much pain and that the break heals well. Enjoy the sunshine and sitting in your garden as the days get warmer. Keep visiting us on here and painting us your lovely pictures. πŸ€— xx

Oh I’m so sorry to hear that Nilsam! Why do we manage to do these things to ourselves?! I hope you manage to find some alternative exercises to keep you going for the next few weeks - and make sure that Enid looks after you! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Thank you, Oldgirlruns. Yes, it's the two left feet syndrome. Life turns on a sixpence...I certainly will be investigating some one armed yoga over the next few weeks. πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘Take care and happy running. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘€πŸ‘£

So sorry to hear of your fall Nilsam. You are now a real runner - well that’s what I was told after my first fall πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Glad to see that you broke the correct arm and that Enid will be with you while you join me on the injury couch. There’s some other lovely runny people here too.

You are so right, Dexy5. We are going to speed off the couch one day, like a shotgun fired. Until then...strength and flex. Take care, Dexy5. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

So sorry to hear this. I hope Enid didn't have anything to do with this? But then that would be a pretty extreme way of getting out of running.... 🀣 Glad you can still do your lovely paintings though. I hope you recover quickly. It will be all the sweeter if we are out of lockdown - or at least less restricted when you get back out there. Xx

Mostly ok with the occasional dip in spirit. I broke the rules today and went for a short walk 😱. It’s the first time I’ve done it, but we live in a village which is very quiet at the moment, so no harm done. It was wonderful!

Ouch! So sorry to hear about your accident! It is so easy to trip. Poor Enid looks a bit sorry for herself.

But it looks like you have lots of plans to do some lovely things. Hopefully the weather will be nice.

Of course you can do lots of leg strengthening exercises!
