My inner Enid and I will have to learn to seek pleasure in smaller and quieter things as running isn't an option for the next 6 - 8 weeks.
Pride comes before a fall and I tripped on a pavement and broke my arm. So Enid and I will be back on the couch for a bit (and finding a different way to exercise π€) just until we can do the programme again maybe at the end of June.
So to all my / our wonderful running friends...happy running, take care and watch your feet...or rather don't.π

Yes, I was so impressed with how kind they were in A&E. Doctor included (who put the plaster on himself). In and out, then two follow up phone calls the next day. So caring. π
Oh dear poor you, it felt wrong to "like" your post. I hope it's as they say a clean break and that it isn't too painful. Sending you a virtual (gentle) hug x
Thank you so much, dijep. Not too bad and in the scheme of things...I know I am lucky. Keep on running. ππ£
Oh no! Iβm sorry to read this. How sad Enid looks π. Now I know what your comment meant the other day π€¦πΌββοΈ.
I hope you arenβt in too much pain and that the break heals well. Enjoy the sunshine and sitting in your garden as the days get warmer. Keep visiting us on here and painting us your lovely pictures. π€ xx
Thank you, Delly-dot. I realised how much this community meant to me when I wanted to tell you straight away. I will keep reading all your lovely posts.. I know lots are locked down and can't run for different reasons. We will be back. Take care. π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈ
Oh Iβm so sorry to hear that Nilsam! Why do we manage to do these things to ourselves?! I hope you manage to find some alternative exercises to keep you going for the next few weeks - and make sure that Enid looks after you! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Thank you, Oldgirlruns. Yes, it's the two left feet syndrome. Life turns on a sixpence...I certainly will be investigating some one armed yoga over the next few weeks. π§πΌββοΈπTake care and happy running. πββοΈππ£
Thank you for the encouragement, Rigpig. Yes I want to get back out there when I can. Until then (I may give myself another day) I will hit the alternative exercises. Take care and happy running. ππ
So sorry to hear of your fall Nilsam. You are now a real runner - well thatβs what I was told after my first fall ππ
Glad to see that you broke the correct arm and that Enid will be with you while you join me on the injury couch. Thereβs some other lovely runny people here too.
Well I would but to be fair ...it was a tiny bit out and I have two left feet and I am always falling over. I can only blame myself. Just a whoopsy daisy moment. πΌπ€
What a shame... thatβs so sad. But Iβd be proud too a sporting injury. A badge of honour for trying... you will heal quickly I hope. And begin again. Brilliant drawing
So sorry to hear this. I hope Enid didn't have anything to do with this? But then that would be a pretty extreme way of getting out of running.... π€£ Glad you can still do your lovely paintings though. I hope you recover quickly. It will be all the sweeter if we are out of lockdown - or at least less restricted when you get back out there. Xx
Actually I had a vision of her sneaking up behind you and giving you a push π€£π€£π€£. A bit wily is your Enid, I think. Take care and keep painting! Xx
Enid has proven so many times how resilient she is, this wonβt faze her Iβm sure and weβre all looking forward to seeing what she says about her new exercise regime.
Thank you so much, Lexi6. That is very motivating...you mean we can't just put our feet up then. Tee hee. Thank you again I will get going soon. Take care of yourself. πββοΈπ
What rotten luck. I fell over last weekend and face planted but. I thing broken. Walking round with 2 black eyes in the current climate gets you some funny π. Get yourself checked for osteoarthritis π. Enjoy the rest up x
Oh I am so sorry to hear that, Aspire24. π Sun glasses don't always look right so they? (As for testing...I know I have Osteopenia. But no breaks for the last 17 years so thought I was doing quite well). Hope you feel better soon. Happy running π
I am so very sorry to hear this. That is rotten luck. Here's hoping that your arm isn't causing too much pain. I'm glad to see the drawing and I know that your lively mind will be sharing Enid's antics with us.
Wishing you a speedy (but steady) recovery πΊπΌπΊ
Thank you so much, Comfortnotspeed. I will certainly following everyone's posts to keep me amused and thank you again for your encouragement. Happy running and take care. ππββοΈ
You and Enid are unflappable. I hear the equanimity in your voice. Thanks for reminding us that 1, it happens to all of us and 2, we're capable of working through.
Oh dear, so sorry to hear this news π I do hope you are feeling ok. Not your drawing hand I hope (well looking at your lovely drawings on this post I assume not!). Take care π
So sorry to hear this, but you seem ok. Keep drawing and painting, thereβs some good stuff out there at the mo, creativity wise, and also lots of good YouTube exercise videos, although Iβm finding a severe lack of motivation in the latter. Keep smiling, and keep safe x
Mostly ok with the occasional dip in spirit. I broke the rules today and went for a short walk π±. Itβs the first time Iβve done it, but we live in a village which is very quiet at the moment, so no harm done. It was wonderful!
Thank you so much, Roxdog. You are right about feeling sorry for herself and then I just have to think how lucky I am. I had certainly done the most if the digging in the veggie plot too. (Ok so it looks like it will not be expanded this year.) Waking up to this message will motivate us into action with the leg exercises. Take care too. Happy running. πββοΈπππ»ββοΈ
We're all in the wars! I have sciatica so am having a little break from running for a few days while I do glute strengthening exercises! My family suggested I could walk for a change!
Ooh very painful...Poor you. π€You have my sympathy. The fact that your family said about walking says so much about you...love it. Maybe we should. Take care. Hope it eases up soon. πΆββοΈπΆββοΈππ»ββοΈ
It is / was, but I have to appreciate that some people have not been outside for weeks and health wise I am very lucky. π And I am going to keep saying it (when I want to have a little cry in a cupboard) then keep saying it until it goes in. π§ββοΈ π
Oh no! What rotten luck. Take care of yourself and maybe see you on the Strength and Flex forum - Iβm sure someone on there would suggest some exercises you can do at home with a poorly arm x
Ooooh no Nilsam, I βm sorry to hear that. Mend well, the running will politely wait for you. π
..There is great potential for drawing an βEnid in a potβ blog over the next few weeks- lockdown potted down??? Pots give such scope for many ridiculous circumstances- I know that from experience! π₯΄
Oh Nilsam, I have only just seen this, so sorry you are on the ic π π€
Did you fall over running π?
I understand the 2 left feet problem, I've suffered with that most of my life!! π
You and Enid take care, come here when you feel the need to shut yourself in a cupboard - maybe shut Enid in for a while if she's trying your patience!)
Will be thinking of you while I'm running π βΊοΈ
Fab pictures by the way, at least you can keep busy with those βΊ
Actually if it had been running I may have felt better. π€£ Just walking along, turned to say thank you to someone who had stepped into the road for social distancing. Then plop, tripped over a slightly raised pavement...silly Billy. Never mind. Thank you so much for your kind words ...I am learning lots about myself and Enid. Happy running...we will be right behind you ππ£ππ
