Just completed run 1 of week 2. I was a bit nervous I wouldn’t be able to do it because I found week 1 very hard! (29 F, overweight, very unfit here!)
But I did it! And I feel so happy to have finished the entire thing! My 90 second jogs got very very slow by the end, they were not much faster than my walk and I really had to drag my legs to do it.
But a nice thing I noticed was my breathing got much better with each 90sec jog. After the first two I was so out of breath I was almost wheezing 🙈 but by the end my breathing had really levelled out which was a nice surprise.
Anyone had similar experiences?

Yes i am in the middle of week two. I find the first 90 second i am out of breath and struggle to get it back in the 2min walk. But after that i manage to find a rhythm and they get easier breathing wise.
Keep going, could do with the moral support as well so would be good to monitor our progress👍
Some good advice I've read is to speed up your walking parts and slow down your running. I've noticed when I do the warm up walk uphill, the first running interval is easier.
I've restarted the programme because I haven't run in such a long time and today I'm doing run 3 of week 2.
Yay well done!! Such a great feeling, isn't it! Speed is not important, it's building up your strength and stamina that matters so slow it down as much as you need to 🙂
Breathing always takes a while to settle. There's a post somewhere that explains it, it's something to do with the extra oxygen that your body needs to run.
Good luck with the rest of the programme. Onwards and upwards🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
Well done you... just keep it ever slow and steady and as you move forward, do make sure you put some strength and stamina work in on some of your rest days
I struggled with my vet first run yesterday but reading your post has given me the boost that I needed so thank you. I am a week+ behind you and I’m twice your age but I’m going to keep going as long as my knees let me! 😊 well done for what you have achieved so far. X
Struggled more this week but I guess its your body adapting to a new challenge.
Breathing wise I'm asthmatic and running has always been a problem due to asthma.
Concentrating on breathing is a skill in itself aside from the running. I've been concentrating on my posture and stride much more this week which has helped my legs feel less fatigued.
Have you tried the wim hof breathing method? I do it before a run. Was doing it before ct5k but applied it pre run and it improves my runs tenfold.
