Hi well I did week 2 run 2 for the second time and took the advice of stretching first. I was much slower and didn’t go as far first two jogs were ok but then calves started screaming !! Perhaps I’m just not slow enough but almost felt my walk was quicker 🤣🤣
I use nap my walk to see how far I go. It was 2.7 km should I be going less distance ? Any help would be appreciated. Can’t say i love it ! Jo Wiley tells me to say I love running errr I don’t think so !!
Picture is where I’m doing it on the flat no hills.

Are you doing dynamic stretches pre run, as recommended in the guide to the plan?
Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow and are far more important, in my opinion, than pre run stretches.
Stretch before don’t walk too fast to start with just a steady pace and it’s not about how far you go. I was running so slow I could have got booked for parking but I’ve improved immensely. Keep it up and think nice thoughts along the way x
Thank you I will indeed start to stretch first and walk a little slower. You made me chuckle as when my husband and I go for a walk together he says if I walked any skier I’d be stopped. Cheeky !! I will indeed keep going and try not to focus on how far I go just doing the programme.
