Anyone there to motivate?

I know I’m pathetic but I’m really struggling to get out of bed to do my run today. The sun is shining. There are 2 days since my last run. I need to go early or it won’t happen at all. This is my second time doing C25K. I’m on W2R2 but mentally not good these days. I’ve been helped in the past by this forum. Anyone like to give me a push?

I woke up yesterday very tired as my little one had kept me up a lot in the night. I couldn’t really be bothered with w2r2 but I got up and got straight out to do my run. When I got home I felt way better for doing my run.

Get up get straight out and you will feel better once your run is over!

Right! That’s me! Brilliant reply - you are a star and I’m getting my running shoes on. You’ve no idea how much you have helped.

All I would say to you is run today with a goal in mind, that goal might be a reward; that may be 20 minutes extra in the sunshine or a treat after dinner tonight as a reward. Either way get out there, do your run and at the end relish in your achievement. Good luck and Well Done!!

I did it! Thank you for your encouragement - it will help me persevere. Great to have support from like-minded people.

The best feeling is to have the sun in your face whilst achieving a goal were all aiming for. And of course previous time out in the sunshine on this fine Friday. You can do this I'm going for mine now so come join me remember your not alone.

I’m back from my run and feel good now! I really hope you had a good run too. It helped me last time I did the programme to imagine all the C25K runners doing the run at the same time. Virtually of course! I love this forum. Thanks for reaching out.

Morning. Getting motivated is hard. Go on you can do it for all those NHS workers. For 99 year old Tom. He would be proud of you. And you know once you’re done it you’ll be super proud of yourself. I’m with you I have faith don’t let me down. Xxx

Thank you for your kind words! Really good of you to reach out with your support and good motivating ideas. Yes, the NHS and old Tom. Also the many others we don’t know about. Have a great day. I’m now logging on for my day of ‘ ‘remote teaching’... I so miss the classes!

we only ever regret the runs we don't do...👍🏻

...And now I’m back with no regrets! Thank you so much - I’ll revisit these posts if I struggle again. As for today, I’m buzzing now.

Glad that you ran! I am a great shover and pusher... but you did it and you feel amazing... remember that next time you feel as if you don't want to head out!

Go you.. awesome!

We can do this! This is my second time also. Today im doing week 3 run 1. I think I quit on week 3 last time. I usually put it off aslong as I can... but once ive completed it I feel loads better. :) Go for it and enjoy the sunshine.

Thanks for reply. I actually finished the programme last year and was able to run non stop for 30 minutes by the end of it. Can’t believe that now. I’m struggling more this time because I’m a bit heavier and I had a bit of a hard time through the winter. But I know running helps my mental health, so onwards and upwards...!

The hardest thing for a lot of people is to get them pumps on and get out there. I know for me I try to come up with every excuse in the book. I prefer to run first thing especially now the weather is nice. I got my run out of the way and was back indoors by 9.05. I’ve since had breakfast and a few glasses of squash so I’m now just kicking back in the garden topping up my tan. Every one on this forum seems to be full of encouragement so you’re not alone in this. Good luck with the program. It really does work. 👌😀

Thank you for responding. People are incredibly supportive. I now feel I have a little band of pals who’ll be there willing me on! Will conjure you all up on Sunday when I’m planning my W2R3 🙏
