OK so I started Couch to 5k yesterday... Woke up this morning and it hurts... Everything /everywhere lol. It feels good because I know I've done it right ☺ this is why I chose my next running day to be Saturday as I know tomorrow will be even worse lol x

Have you read the pinned post for the information about the programme ? It’s well worth a read

No need to hurry at all. Go very slowly 👍🙂

Yeah I read most of it last night. It's scary because I've never ran in my life and I'm not very fit at all but I managed my first day lol looking forward to the next one ☺

I never had! Nil, nada, zilch. I was overweight, unfit and had awfully painful joints. I was seeing a chiro who said I’d be looking at a new hip.

I never did get that as I don’t have any issues since losing weight and getting moving

This programme and WW saved me 😃.

It’s important though about going really slowly. You can crack on for the warm-up walk but then it’s slow from then on. Going really slowly saves puff, to get you to the finish

So relax and enjoy. Going nice and steady will reduce aches and pains too, as we can feel niggles if we’re new to exercise

Good luck👍

It's good to hear that because I actually did run/jog slow yesterday and I thought maybe I was going to slow but now I think I was actually going at a good pace for me as I didn't kill myself but could totally still feel the benefits of it! Thank you ☺ and well done on your journey too! Sounds like you're much healthier and happier!

Well done for getting started. 👏

Make sure you are running very slowly, keeping your stride quite small and under your body - no stretching out in front.

When you get home do your cool down stretches before your muscles get cold. This should help your blood flow and decrease muscle soreness. Warm baths and yoga al help.

Good luck!

Thank you ☺ I will need to get into the habit of the stretches etc as its all new to me so it's just programming myself that I need to do it!

The guide to the plan includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Good diet and hydration are also crucial,

I agree with all the advice everyone has given you. Make sure you move around your home regularly too after a run. The one day I just lay around after a run I too hurt everywhere the day after.

I felt like this when first started. Doing the stretches before and after really helps, as well as a rest day in between. Half a banana ten minutes before a run and lots of water too. I’ve also been taking a bath with Epsom salts when feel a bit bashed up and that really helps too. Well done you!
