Week 3!

The 3 minute continuous run I had been dreading.

After completing Week 2 and finally in a rhythm after recovering from Covid-19, I was brought to a stop again after getting a chest infection. Bad luck or bad immune system? Probably a bit of both.

It had been a week since I had ran as a result and every passing day made me more and more anxious that the fitness I had built up from Week 2 was depleting. This week, having established some steady breathing, a slow pace and switching back to the epic Jo Whiley, I surprised myself. I managed to get through it without too many issues and as it turns out, I can run for 3 minutes now!

I’m excited to be back tackling Week 3 although I have lingering dread as this gets harder. Having said that, I could barely complete 60 seconds a month ago so there is something to be proud of!

Well done beating this awful virus, it didn't stop you getting back to your running 👍👍 it'll soon be week 9 🥳

Thanks my friend!

Trust the plan charswee, rest up between runs, don't feel you have to be as fast as others you see out running, it's too easy to over complicate running, there's no need! Check out ianodatruffles posts they'll help massively. And never neglect that water, especially as it's warmer currently. Post run stretches are also so important, looking forward to seeing you graduate!!

You got this gal 💪👍

I’ll be sure to check them out. I appreciate this, it’s definitely easy to get in your head when you see others in a park running circles around you but I try to just get to the end of the run and not look beyond it. Thank you for your support, grateful! 🙌🏼

Yes. I recently discovered that „Japanese Slow Jogging“ is a thing (Google should find it), and that gave me the confidence in my ultra slow C25k speed. I am only on W2R3 but knowing my lack of speed was a ‚method‘ (and not only a necessity) was great. Fabulous to hear , let’s keep going with being steady and slow!

Well done, you have proven that the plan has prepared you for what is coming.

What are you dreading?

What is the worst that can happen?

You might not complete a run, in which case you have to repeat it............what is there to fear in that?

This post about mental approach may help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Be kind to yourself.

You can do this.
