Week 3 run 1 done - not so bad!

Just got back from run 1. Got off to a good start as I was expecting 3 repetitions so was ecstatic when Laura said it would be 2! For the 3 minute runs I just took it really steady and was surprised at how well I coped. I'm not saying it was easy or particularly comfortable by any means, but certainly not as bad as I feared. I worried myself at the end when I felt a bit short-changed that I'd only had to run 2 repetitions and covered 1/2K less than week 2 and felt I could have done another repetition. Never EVER thought I'd be saying that!

I'm going to do W3 Run 3 tomorrow - did Run 2 yesterday and it wasn't as good as run 1 but think it was combination of windy weather, running a slightly different route and a dodgy toenail! So tomorrow, I'm reverting back to my other route and hoping the wind dies down a bit! :)

Excellent, you are really getting into this C25K thing, aren't you? Good for you!

Hi. I am, much to my surprise. I still find the 30 minutes / 5K target in 9 weeks to be an unlikely goal, but with each run it seems more and more like the plan will help me achieve it and the number of graduates like yourself seems to prove it really is achievable. I know I've got a long way to go, but I'm certainly feeling more positive. Many thanks to you and all the others for your help and advice.

You're welcome!

Lots of people don't reach the 5K target at the end of C25K (in fact, I think most don't, including me) but the 30 minutes is most definitely achievable. Honestly, if I can do it, anyone can!

Well done, the thinking about it beforehand is often worse than the actual running!

I know, my biggest fault is probably thinking too much rather than just knuckling down and doing it!
