Just getting of the couch is bad enough

So, I've finally downloaded the app....

I wonder how long it'll take before I actually start.

I haven't run since secondary school (I used to be great, 1st in 1500, 800 & Cross Country). Now I don't think I can run for 60 seconds 😒

You can do it! Once you start you feel buzzing. I've only done 3 runs so just completed my first week, and I'm doing ok. Like yourself, I hadn't run since school. Trust me it does get easier after first time. Good luck.

I felt exactly the same.... ran for the County...thought I would collapse in that first run...

Start it.... steady and slow... relax, check out the FAQ for newbies and simply enjoy!

Keep posting your runs too, for terrific support and encouragement:) Welcome to a really great forum!

Welcome.

Getting off the couch is the toughest bit of this... you have the app... it’s time to take that hardest step... you can do this... and you can run 60 seconds, just don’t try to do it like the secondary school champion, do it like the slowest runner back then, you’ll develop faster and find it easier. Enjoy your journey, and come back lots to tell us how it’s going.

I thought exactly the same as you but this programme makes it manageable, and this is coming from someone who has never run in her life.

You'll be surprised what you can manage with your coaches voice encouraging you and telling you when to run and walk😁

Jolenejolene You say you think you can't run 60 seconds but if you really want to do this you will be surprised how this plan builds you up gradually and after completing each run it feels such an achievement. Go for it! 😁

You can do this! I was never able to run at all throughout childhood, always picked last at sports day, hearing groans of the team I had to go with. Not sporty at all.

I started running in my very late 30’s and built up slowly. Had a break then ran again using the C25k app in my late 40’s. Hit 6k this week.

So if I can do it you certainly can with your past history of running x

I did it!

Well, kind of. I didn't manage the last two 60 second runs but my achilies are aching and I've got a bit 9f a blister now on my right heel.

I found it tough going.

Thank you all for your support. x
