Just got back from my first run since my back went a week ago. An easy 5KM, didn't want to push it too much, but was pleased that my fastest KM split was 7.55, when I first started this running lark 3 months ago I was running about 10.45 Per KM, so pleased with the improvement! Back is feeling ok, so looking forward to my next, longer run, probably on Monday.

Great news curly glad your back was okay. I love it when people talk about an "easy" 5k when a few months ago 1k seemed out of the question ;-)

Being naïve here, when you say fastest KM split is that the fastest 1k of the 5k, not thought of this before?

Yes, I must admit it's downhill lol! If you look at Slookie's post just up you will see her splits, she's a bit faster than me! Aussie always posts his splits too. You need something like a Garmin or a phone app like Runkeeper or Map My run. I love the stats!

'Easy' 5k? Get you!

in reply touseitorloseit

To be honest the whole route is 5K including warm and down. The running bit is about 3.5, that's my comfortable distance st the moment, but I have done over 5K a couple of times. I don't say this to brag, but hope it gives encouragement - you'll do it too soon.

Aww thank you Useit! How nice to be put up there with the legendary Miss W! She was my inspiration a while ago, and still is actually!

Wot ho CurlyGurly! I long for the day when I can say 'easy 5KM' but will strive to get there. Glad your back is behaving and look forward to hearing about your next installment.

Good lass! I think a slow jog should be ok for your back, it should do it good. Anything that strengthens it has to be a good thing. It's just a matter of knowing how far to go. I think if you pushed too far you'll soon know about it

I hope you feel ok, after your rest day you should feel whether you can go that bit further next time. Well done on the time by the way!!!
