I watched a film the other day and though how beautiful Angelina Jolie looked...and slim... I was thinking about the way she looked a lot while I was ploughing my way through a dinner which was the size for two people, washed down with some chilled white wine and polished off with a galaxy bar.
My life is sedentary (apart from the odd walk on a Sunday). I sit in front of a PC all day, every day, most often for 6 days a week, 10 hours a day. When i'm not in front of a PC I am on my laptop or driving my car.
Having recently turned 35 I really do need to do something about my lack of fitness, and the fact that I will do anything to avoid a nice country walk if it involves anything more than a 5% incline.
So that was that. Dug out the old trainers on Sunday, bought a treadmill on Monday, did my first run Wednesday and completed my second run about 30 mins ago. I know it's early days but I feel good so far.
I'm sure the novelty will wear off so I need to keep motivated. Reading everyone elses posts will help me do that.
BTW - I am very aware that I will NEVER look like Angelina Jolie, and that running won't necessarily help me lose weight (even though it may help me lose inches), but anything has to be better than my current female rotundness...
Thanks in advance for all your support!!

Great start and keep checking in here with us and you will keep going. We are great at cuddly motivation or kicks up the up you know what, not to mention a wee guilt trip or two.
But honestly you'll be so proud of yourself when you get to the end, which isn't that long really. Keep it up and well done!
Well done for starting this. It's one of the best decisions you'll make for your health and fitness, both physical and mental. You'll get loads of support here and some laughs too so keep posting. For what it's worth I think Angelina looked far more beautiful when she was more...... buxom. I love that word!
Well done on deciding to do something about it. You could've just described me but I've got 3 years on you! Stick around here and you'll get so much encouragement and motivation from everyone x
Hi and welcome this is the right place to come for motivation, support or anything else
You have done that hard part by starting the program no going back now .
As for Angelina well that's Hollywood for you .
You are you and have no need to compare yourself with anyone
Congratulations on starting the programme. I remember setting out and couldn't believe that I would be able to go from huffing and puffing for 60 seconds at a time to huffing and puffing for 30 minutes non stop. It can seem a daunting prospect but you'll get lots of support from all the lovely people on here. The feeling you get when you complete the programme is fantastic.
Now only another 25 runs before you complete the programme. Good luck.
Well done for getting started, it's a wonderful program! I'm same as you, 37, sedentary job, lazy madam in the evenings after the little ones are in bed truth be told, but I feel lots better on C25K... Keep it up and good luck Nat
That's fantastic! As for motivation I am sure you will get lots on this forum, and I would also suggest that when you can/if you can you try running outside and not just on the treadmill sometimes. The fresh air and different things to look at are also motivating, or at least that's what I have found. Good luck!
Can't imagine Angelina Jolie enjoys what has to be done to stay so slim!
I'm still a stone overweight but the inches have really pulled in! I can fit into clothes the scales say I shouldn't fit, so keep going! The high after every successful run is amazing!
