I started yesterday with my first run/walk. My legs were really sore. Got up early this morning and completed a 6k walk, legs ok when walking but now really sore. Hopefully I can do my 2nd run/walk tomorrow. First exercise for approximately 10 years but approaching 50 so I need to do something. I hope it gets easier

Congratulations to you Rinky1 on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1, you can repeat any runs or weeks if you want to until you are satisfied with your performance, good luck.

If you follow the stretching advice in the guide to the healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it will help considerably.

Stretching immediately after every run, while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.
