Want to get back running. Just started back on week 3 but think I need to repeat as legs still hurt 2 days on. Should I just work through the pain

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Stretching immediately after every run, while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.

Enjoy your journey.

Thanks, I definitely need to stretch more.

Great going, remember to stay hydrated too as that will help with muscle recovery, it’s surprising how much of a difference it makes 👍

Welcome aboard!

You can run through the odd twinge, but never run through pain.

As has already been said, stretches before your muscles cool down will help, as will going slower.

Personally, I never repeated a run unless I hadn't completed it properly, but it's up to you. Certainly take an extra rest day though.

Good luck 👍
