My name is Glenda. I first completed this journey just before I was 60 then fell off my bike and broke an ankle. That was 10 years ago.
I completed it again a few years later but this time just fell off the wagon.
I am now 70. Have recently lost 3 stone but the last stone is so stubborn and i am doing no excercise. was walking on treadmill today and thought for a laugh I would see if i could still run. Did 2 minutes and didn't die so i am going to start again. I know I loved being apart of this group so here i am.
Ay encourage meant welcome.

I hope you start C25K again as soon as possible Glenda, if you can get outside for the 9 weeks of C25K all the better, take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, good luck.
Here we are again... older and maybe you, ( but certainly not me), wiser Do give the info here, a quick check over.. just to keep you safe... we, more seasoned runners:), do have to take care of ourselves! ( I am 73 in two weeks time !
well done you. Nothing changes run slow take it easy. Listen to your body and good luck. Hopefully I guess I will be starting again too dependent on when I am allowed off the injury couch by the Physio and the Consultant.
wow well done- you are an inspiration to lose that weight and then start running again is amazing. I am 63 and have been running for 2 years feeling a bit flat for a while thinking how long will I be able to keep running. You have really encouraged me this morning so I hope I can do the same for you, but as the Ambassadors/ Admin /wise ones say just follow the plan to keep you safe. Happy running 😊
Hi Glendam52. You're the one who's actually encouraging me! I'm soon to be 65 and graduated last summer. Since then I've hardly done anything and now feel really unfit again. I tried a run the other day on my treadmill and was totally out of breath after three minutes. Reading your post and your determination, not just to lose weight (that's an amazing achievement by the way! I can't even shift a couple of pounds!) but to actively start running again at 70, shows just what you can do if you put your mind to it, no matter what your age. So I'm thanking you for making me feel downright ashamed at my indolence and I'm going to start off again by repeating a few of the earlier weeks on C25k in an attempt to regain my fitness. Good luck on your own journey, Glenda! Let us all know how you get on.
Welcome back! We are a bit the same…. I started 10 years ago before turning 60 and here I am now! I did slack off a bit over the 10 years, but still ran even if not 3 times a week. Last summer after losing weight (again😜) I tried to be more consistent and went through C25K again ( have had to do this almost every year!).
So now I am running ( slowly) 3x/week! Hoping to improve my 5 k times from last summer.
I do have a couple more aches and pains than I did 10 years ago.
well done! I have never been a runner but I did c25k in 2020 for the first time aged 66. I have now started again as I go towards my 70th birthday year. I think it is so good for us. If it helps keep the weight down that will be a bonus. Just gotta get out there. I am now a full time carer for husband with Parkinson’s which is something of a nightmare to witness. Taking half an hour out of the day is a life saver. Enjoy being back.
