Struggled for the first 5 minutes, my legs felt heavy and unhelpful thoughts kept popping up inside my head. I had to give myself a good talking to. It worked and once Sarah informed me I was halfway there I found it easier to settle into a steady pace. It really is mind over matter.

Well done. I did my first yesterday I did find after the 2nd 3rd run I was finishing bit early was getting tired. But I did finish the whole session. It did say to rest a day before start 2nd run but tempted to just give it try and take it bit easy.
When you run, the impact creates microtears in your muscles, which repair and strengthen on your rest days, not while running. Without rest, repair and strengthening are compromised and injury risk increased.
Please read the guide to the plan and do not be tempted to miss rest days...........many have regretted ignoring this bit of basic advice in the past.
Or a combo? I know I need to drink more water prior to running so will work on this. Any tips on pre-run snacks. I had a banana about 45 mins beforehand. Is this enough?
I run first thing in the morning and recently have not eaten anything before any run, although my former habit was half a banana for 5k, a whole one for 10k, but I am the last of the big spenders.
As stated in the guide to the plan, if you eat a good balanced diet there is no necessity for anything extra for a C25k workout.
Well done, giving yourself a talking to can work wonders canβt it π youβre getting so close now only 2 more weeks to graduation itβs getting exciting!
Thank you! Yes I could have killed for a walking break in those first 5 minutes but was thankful for the lack of them once Iβd got my head round the run - got into a steady pace ππΌ
