Treadmill during lockdown...

Or perhaps I should say LACK OF treadmill during lockdown...... Really disappointed as my long-awaited order of a treadmill to help me through this ever-increasing amount of time unable to run failed to arrive. I waited patiently until the final possible day. I had read both 'Arriving tomorrow' and 'Arriving today before 20.00' so you can imagine that I really thought it was going to arrive. However, the next message was 'We will notify you by email when your order has been sent'. Angry, disappointed and frustrated are the more polite words that spring to mind. The only positive note was a full refund two days later. I appreciate there had been possible problems or delays due to the current situation but the seller ignored my emails, which didn't help at all.

Now, I can't get a treadmill for love nor money as the world and his wife have obviously (successfully) ordered one. :( I know there are many people in a much worse situation than me for many reasons but just wanted a little moan! :) Sorry!

I am a treadmill bigot............a lucky escape in my view.

But better than not being able to run....

Sure...............possibly..........

I am very fixed in my irrational loathing of the infernal contraptions and would probably not run at all if the treadmill was the only option.

Running is too much in my blood, I'm afraid. Looks like I'll need an indoor option for possible future home confinements too. We'll see.

Running for me is about communing with nature and going somewhere.

Just working my body and staring at a wall would not do it for me.

Me too but here we are not allowed out to exercise at all.

I know..........I would probably turn to drink.

I don't mean to sound flippant, but I honestly cannot conceive of running on a treadmill giving me any kind of pleasure.

I hope you can get sorted somehow.

Keep safe.

Ahh well this sounds very disappointing. I’m sure treadmills are very in demand at the moment with the current situation.

Are you not able to find a quiet route locally where you can have a little run?

I live in Spain and we haven't been allowed out to exercise for the last 4 weeks, which is why I was exploring other ways to keep running. :(

Ahh I gotcha! That’s such a shame. Do you have a garden?

I guess if running really isn’t an option, then explore some other in house workouts which will help towards your running when you can get back to it.

I discovered les mills on demand recently - hundreds of fab different work outs. Although if you don’t want to spend money, Joe wicks the body coach does amazing HIIT workouts for free, you can subscribe to his YouTube channel!

Hope you find something that suits you 🙂

Nope, a mini terrace though I did a 5k Confinarun for charity last Sunday around the house a billion times. Thanks for your advice. :)

Any chance of running to the shops or borrowing a dog?

Shops are 2 mins away and friends with dogs live a bit far away. The police stop you on the streets here and if you haven't got a valid reason to be out, you are fined 600€!

What’s the Spanish for “snookered”?

Can think of several impolite versions! :)

'Pahla B fitness' on YouTube does some great indoor running workouts. Her 30 min 5k runs could be useful if you find yourself in a bind in these challenging times. Buena suerte!

Muchas gracias. :) :)

Sounds like Spain and Italy are slowly slowly relaxing the lockdown, so fingers crossed it wont be too much longer until you can run. :)

Hope so! We have at least 2 more weeks to go and they are considering allowing people to do some exercise and letting the children out for a short while. Fingers crossed! :)
