Dont know if any of you caught the excellent BBC2 series of 'trust me I'm a doctor'. I have just been catching up on episode 4 and they had a part about outdoor running v treadmill running

bbc.co.uk/programmes/articl...

I realise that its probably been done elsewhere but this was something easier for me to get my head around.

Great article and I agree that running outside is so good for my mood, seeing nature and being in the fresh air gives me a feel good factor. The variety of running outdoors must be so good for strengthening balance, perception and a wide range of muscles. Yesterday, I ran on grass, gravel track, jumped over fallen twigs, dodged various potholes and puddles and I even took a wrong turn in the woods and was lost. Needed to use my sense of direction and brainpower to figure out how to get back to my car as it was getting dusky! Much more fun than watching TV!!

I'm loving the series and it's a really interesting piece. For me it's the benefits of nature/ fresh air and the effect that has on my mental health that will always mean I choose outside!!!
