Run 1 completed....phewee!

I did week 1 run 1 on Good Friday morning. The short bursts made it feel very doable and it was lovely to be up and out so early. But even though I’m fit my body gets such a shock when I do a run! Still stiff today. Will persevere and do run 2 tomorrow, hoping the stiffness eases as my body gets used to it....will it?! 🤷‍♀️

Congratulations on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1 and welcome to the forum, just take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, good luck for run 2 tomorrow.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Stretching immediately after every run, while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.

Enjoy your journey.

I did W1R1 on Good Friday too and definitely felt in in my legs today. Wasn’t going to do R2 today but went for it anyway and it felt easier and the legs soon eased - let’s see how I feel in 2 days (always went to stiffness is worst for me!)

Good for you. 👏

You don't get fitter when you run; you get fitter as your body adapts on your rest days. If you're still really achy, give yourself an extra day.
