I started c25k in jan . I m used to rain ☔️ hail 💨and sleet 🌨not this bright hot yellow thing in the sky ☀️.
Not that I m complaining , I m not 😳..... but I need to adapt 🥵🥵🥵🥵snd quickly . I ve read about these flip belt things for storing keys , phone etc but I d like a similar thing but with a water bottle . I can’t just hold a bottle . I ve tried twice and don’t like it . I get hay fever and I can’t juggle the bottle of water and get hankies out of pocket to blow my nose . Too much multitasking whilst running . Too much faffing around . So , dear forum , you ve come to my rescue many times over the past 3 months , I m hoping you can advise me on this little gem ..... a water bottle I can run with which won’t bounce against my legs or bum and annoy me whilst running & preferably one which incorporates something for holding my keys ,phone and copious amounts of paper tissues ( not asking much am I 😂😂😂)

What about a backpack thingymabob? Can't remember the name for it but its a v small bag with a water bladder inside and a tube poking out the top for you to drink through. I have one from the decathlon shop bought for walking in the tropics. Was v cheap and pockets for phone, keys and space for a fair few things besides. But v neat on and there is a waist strap to stop it waggling about. Might be overkill for your needs though unless you're aiming for a marathon???
Hello Fionamags. Thank you for your reply . I must admit the thought of drinking out of a “ bladder” makes me want to say - forget the water , I ll die of thirst thank you 🤣🤣🤣. It sounds like a good idea for long runs but I m no where near that stage yet . Never will be , but I m ok with that ☺️. I just want something that will last me an hour . The sensible thing would be for me to get my 🍑 out of bed earlier and do it when it’s cooler 🙄. 🙈🥵
I never thought one measly bottle of water would affect my running . Not sure it would at my speed 🐌🙈. But I have had a look on google and seen these dual bottle carriers. I wondered why - you ve just answered that question thank you . I agree a back pack would be overkill for me atm . I m never going to run king distance . Still trying to master 5k .😳🙄🙈. But I m running 30 -40 mins and that is not something I thought I could ever do .
Sorry , I m rambling , too much time on my hands 🙄. Thank you for your advice 👍
Then you will have great problems running.........your ability to transport oxygen in your blood will be reduced, your joints will likely not be as well lubricated, the cartilage in your joints will be compressed and less efficient at taking the impact of running, your kidneys will be at risk of failure........all in all a recipe for pain and injury.
A healthy adult is composed of 60% water.
"According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158, the brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery: 31%."
If we get dehydrated then none of those organs function optimally, so it is unwise to physically push the body unless it adequately hydrated.
Wow, when you put it like that... Icshall drink more water 😆
I hardly ever need to carry water and (as has become clear) you probably need to focus on hydration all the time rather than actually when you run. Just so you know, I have a flip belt and you can get a small water bottle that fits into it. Its sort of banana shaped so curves around you
Yes I understand the hydration thing , it’s just in a certain age and my thermostat is knackered 🥵......... sometimes I need the water down my neck , on one occasion it went down my back 😳🙄🙈........ whatever the reason for carrying it , I need to carry it in this new warm weather ☀️.
I am of a similar age and get very hot at times; but that is different to being thirsty. I much prefer to run in cool weather and when it gets hot I run earlier and in shady places, or wait until it rains (and it always does!)
I agree , but my initial request for help in carrying water during a run, did not mention anything to do with being thirsty . Although it’s an easy assumption to make . I may have a few sips but the rest is for external use 😂 . And before anyone thinks I m aiming to enter a wet T shirt competition The answer to that one is NO !! 😂😂. With this street running lark , the walkers are hogging the pavements with the shade for themselves so I m often relegated to the Hot side of the street 🥵🥵🥵...... 💦
Looking forward to reading the tips too. I have only carried water but when I started this programme I decided I should be ok without for 30 mins. As we go into summer I am beginning to change my mind. 👍🤝
Yes , it’s all very well being hydrated but when I m having a hot flush 🥵, I need water . Maybe down my neck , maybe over my head ........ but believe me I need water 😳🙈. Tbh I m afraid to drink too much before I run ...... it’s not like I can pop into anywhere to use the facilities now . Asda and Tesco have horrendous queues snaking all around the car park . And if it’s before 10 am I m not allowed into Tesco cos I m not over 70 or an NHS a worker . Sorry , I think my sprout sized bladder is having a tantrum 🤣🤣. Got to keep it light hearted .
There is a water bottle and belt on Amazon that is supposed to not bump up and down. Lol it’s on my next Christmas list 😂 Unless you could carry one of those ergonomic things with the hole for your hand?
Give us some feedback if you try something please 😀
I bought a large running belt it will fit a small plastic bottle of water 250m like size off a panda pop bottle and you can keep your keys inside it hope it helps happy running keep safe
Hi Pete. . That sounds like something I m looking for . I shall have a mooch on amazon . I ve asked on the forum cos I m not much of a virtual shopper - figured everyone could chip in and tell me what works for them . So thank you 😊
