Week 1 run 1

Finally left the house this evening, laced up, music on and Joe whiley telling me what to do. I won't lie, it was not easy πŸ˜‚ after two weeks sat on my bum, any fitness I had from chasing toddlers around at work has gone πŸ˜ΆπŸ˜… but I feel elated, the stars were out, and it was really nice being on my own and a change of scenery. No one was around so I didn't feel self conscious, I just went for it πŸ˜„ go do it people!

Yeah, I'll be honest I only started this because I cant play tennis anymore due to Coronavirus and I miss exercising. Definitely aiming to graduate, it's a great plan πŸ™‚

Great job! We told you you could do it... but none of us said it would be easy... be very proud of yourself! That’s the toughest run done now... keep the pace down and your head up... and enjoy the headspace it brings you.

Well done Alice! Take it slow and steady..... you will get there at your own pace and in your own time. Every step is an achievement, your own personal achievement, you did it.

Well done you!

Great news! You won't regret it. I walked like John Wayne after the first couple of weeks (early January) but on Sunday I managed a 40 minute run. It isn't easy but it is absolutely worth it and you will feel so proud of yourself! Enjoy xxx

Great that you got yourself together and 'out there' and that you got a buzz from doing it. Long may it continue!

Top job Alice - you're on your way! As someone much wiser than me wrote on here a few weeks ago "when the run starts, you've won" :-).

I have "when the run starts you've won" written on my phone notes and I look at it before each run, thank you for telling me this all those weeks ago! I'm on week 7 now 😱

Oh that first week! I remember it well from our 2018 start at a ripe old age! (66). Running for a minute?? A full minute??? With no stops???? But look where we are now. We not only been and gone and done it, but still dunning it! Love Parkrun and can't wait for its return. So keep on keeping on and best of luck with the course. Stay safe
