Haven’t run 5k in around 6 years and missed the feeling, so today I took the plunge..... and hated every single minute found it so hard and actually had to stop during 1 of the 60 second runs. Read all the advice before hand and took it very very slow but still struggled, hoping run 2 won’t be as horrendous!
Now I’m home, I do feel pretty good for getting out and doing it! And the views around my local lakes were beautiful in the sun, so not all bad I guess!

I did my first run yesterday so I sympathise- but I am confident it will get easier, so don’t give up!
I used to run 6 years ago. Struggled to get back into it ever since I stopped! Well done for getting out there. I just did my first run and found I walked a little more than I was supposed to.
I restarted C25K and did W1R1 today ru nning on grass. I followed the advice from this community and went super slow on the running sections. Brilliant strategy, it really, really helped me to keep going without get puffed out.
Also enabled me to scan the upcoming track for trip hazards after my recent adventure!
Felt great afterwards. Just need the magic to happen during the run now. . . .
