Yesterday I ran week 9 run 3 and so completed my couch to 5k plan. I must say I’m not as elated as I thought I would be, even though Strava told me I beat lots of my own personal records!
I’m trying to decide why this is the case and I think it’s because I’m not ready to go it alone and although Jo Wiley has told me I’m a runner, I still don’t feel like one.
Also I’m too slow to do 5k in 30 minutes, which I know is fine and it gives me another goal to aim for, but sneakily I’m a little bit disappointed.
oh and I’ve lost no weight. I’ve toned up, but definitely not lost even a pound.
Apart from these gripes I’m happy. 😀😀😀

Congratulations 🎉🎊🎈 there can be a bit of an oh is that it? to graduation, but now you can run and you couldn’t at the start, you have consolidation yes and toned up is better than losing a few pounds, it means you are stronger so be proud
Congratulations on completing C25K 🥳 It can be a bit of an anti climax at the end, so don’t worry I think that’s totally normal. Just look forward to moving forward and enjoy the freedom of being a graduate 👍🏼
Congratulations. This is still a brilliant achievement when you look back to wk1 R1.
I was absolutely elated when I graduated but everybody is different.
Think about run 3. It's a 30 minute run. You've already done it twice before, so no points for achieving something new. It's the end of the program and you're already thinking 'so, where do I go from here'? That can be daunting.
It's for those reasons alone, many people feel it's a bit anticlimactic I think. But just focus on how far you've come!
As for being a runner, well, you really are truly a runner. But a runner at the start of a journey. We've just come out of nursery. Its a whole new ball game now (can I say that about running?).
Keep it up, get some consolidation runs done and let us know how you progress
Congratulations on your graduation! Why not take a look at consolidation club if you're wondering what to do next? As for the 5k, don't be disappointed. I graduated in September and my pb for 5k is still over 37 minutes.
The important things are to keep it up and, most of all, enjoy it. Oh, and by the way, you most definitely are a runner🏃♀️
Don't be hard on yourself uou've achieved a lot. I think very few of us reach 5k in 30 minutes! It might be worth not tracking distance too much at the moment! Us new graduates have a lot to congratulate ourselves for!
