Hiya, I’m a newbie to this. I used to be really fit and either ran or trained at the gym 5 days a week, but after having my son 2 years ago I’ve not exercised at all. I’ve lost all my fitness and am over a stone heavier and 2 dress sizes bigger than I used to be which is really bringing me down. Hoping this will be the ladder to get me back to where I used to be. Just finished W2 R1 and feeling a bit deflated with how hard it feels.... did everyone feel like that in the beginning or is it just me?

W2 R1
I have just finished R2 of W2 and it was hard today because it’s cold and windy. I find it hard because unlike you I was never sporty.
Take a rest day and try again! I'm only a week ahead of you, but W2R1 was tough for me. W2R2 was my favorite so far. You've got this!!
Also- I did W2R2 and R3 back-to-back without a rest day. HORRIBLE decision. Learn from my early mistake and don't do it
Hi Sr8714 , welcome to the forum and congratulations on getting back into your fitness. You are definitely not the only one who finds the first few weeks/runs hard by any means. I was often worried about a member of the public calling an ambulance for me when I was first starting out!!! I haven't run properly since I was at school and that's seems like many moons ago now but with a bit of perseverance and determination I am still running after having graduated in 2017...and now I'm on the admin team on here so I must be doing something right?!!
The best piece of advice I was given was by our very own Oldfloss ...Slower than slow. However slow you think you're going, slow down some more...that way you wont burn yourself out at the start of a run. If you need an extra rest day take it and if you need to repeat a run then do it...nobody says it has to take 9 weeks, it will take as long as you need. Best place to come though is her, theres a world of information, advice and inspiration right here and that in itself will keep you going. GOOD LUCK!!
