Week 7 finished😊

Just home from W7R3. This was the toughest one of the week 7 runs for me. Dragged myself though the last 5 minutes whereas I had felt quite comfortable on the previous 25 min runs. However it's done and I'm looking forward to week 8! Hopefully my next run will be more comfortable. There is no way I'll be running 5k in half an hour though! I only covered 3.5k in 25 mins of running. Is this an average ish time or am I terribly slow? Thank you for reading

You are doing very well indeed, don't worry about not running 5K in 30 minutes, the main thing is to run 3/30 minute runs for you to graduate, onwards and upwards week 8.

Well done for getting this far, Emmaliz. You are doing brilliantly. So few manage the 5k in 30 minutes in the 9 weeks and lots of people do query it. But once you are doing the 30 minute run 3 times a week you can work on speed. (Some of us / many of us, haven't done that sort if speed yet.) Take care and have fun next week.

I don’t know what’s average but I’ve just finished wk 7 too, going into week 8 tmrw and I’m doing about 3.5k too. I was slightly disappointed at first but I read a load of stuff today about after C25K and building endurance and time etc and now I feel ok about it 😄 I always feel like I’m running sooo slowly and I just want to run fast but I know I’d tank after 5mins. I am learning to pace myself which is harder than I thought! Well done on competing week 7! We’ve come so far already! :)

Thanks all, your comments really help. I'm doing race for life in may in memory of my mum and I've given myself a target of 35 mins for 5k. Hopefully if I keep at it I will manage to do it.

Don't be worrying about pace that'll come in time as you run more regularly

You’re doing just fab!! I’m at the same stage. I just finished week 7. X

I am at the same stage too and taking it slow. I will build up speed eventually, now I just want to do the 30m non-stop and enjoy it. Well done Emmaliz 😁
