W2R3 done. Oh my god that was the hardest yet. Run 2 this week was relatively easy. I even enjoyed parts of it. I struggled really badly today and came the closest I have to stopping. Maybe because I had two rest days in between runs or maybe mentally I'm just not in the right space I don't know. I'm now concerned at the run time increasing next week after finding today so tough π
Battle with my brain: W2R3 done. Oh my god that... - Couch to 5K
Battle with my brain
It's probably just this run, some are good, others not so much.
Don't look ahead and get stressed, trust the programme. By the time you start your next run, your body will have made some adaptations and you will be fitter than you were at the end of your last run.
Good luck!
Hi Sarah 2706 and huge WELL DONE for completing week 2, you are doing so well. Keep going, you really can do it otherwise you wouldn't have got to where you are.
I think we all have good and 'bad' runs, those that make you feel refreshed, awake and alive and those where you feel sluggish and irritable all the way around. Don't be put off by a negative one. If you enjoyed run 2 then there is no reason why you won't enjoy run 1 of week 3 and many others in the future.
And if you head out but find it a struggle and can't get to the end of one of the running sessions, don't be hard on yourself. You are doing an amazing thing for getting out there in the first place so concentrate on that, mark it down as a practice run and repeat it. There really is nothing wrong with repeating any runs or even weeks, the only thing you can do 'wrong' now is to go back to the couch permanently.
Keep going, stay positive, keep us all updated and HAPPY RUNNING
Hey Sarah the runs done its a tick in the box, the next run will be better. I always used to feel like I was running backwards when I'd rested for two days π΅ give me the solitary resting day and already I'm looking forward to that run. Declutter those mental non running thoughts that are perhaps bouncing around and just make it you and the run...... π And tell yourself you're doing fabulously
Well done on your run Sarah2706 it might have hard but you done π trust the plan it works just relax and drink the 2or 3 litres of water happy running πββοΈ
Well done Sarah, we find the run after our 2 days rest harder, I think the brain thinks itβs won and weβve given up and then gets all stroppy again when we set off on the next week. Brain does not know best and when it says βGive in, you know you want to!β we say NEVER! π
Oh Sarah2706, it may just be the day! Next one could be good. We all have our ups and down especially Once you start reading all the posts on this forum you realise it is very normal. I hope you feel brighter in your next run and have some fun with it. Take care.
Well done Sarah. I find some runs are better than others and cant always see a reason. I find thinking about moving up to the next week is actually scarier than the reality. Don't psych yourself out before you've given it a go. I've repeated a few runs and probably will again. They're not fails but a practice. Give it a go. I bet you surprise yourself.
Ignore the negative brain.. the gremlins are absolute pains... BUT...if you head out steady and slow... you squish them with every single step!
You are going to be fine...believe it and relax and enjoy!
Please don't be concerned. Two rest days is completely fine - I had 2 rest days quite often during the programme and sometimes you might need that extra day.
You did it, however hard it was. Some runs are just like that, please don't be discouraged. Tiredness, lack of water, mood, anything can affect the quality of the run and how you experience it. Keep it slow and steady and you'll be fine!
Impressive that you got through and finished the run today, even though you were not enjoying it and it was hard.
Well done π
Not all runs are enjoyable ( although for me I always feel absolutely fantastic at the end ) ....but the determination you showed today in getting through will stand you in good stead and means that you body is ready for what is next.
You just have to persuade you mind about that, and be confident.... look at what you have achieved so far.
Set off slowly and keep it steady, and youβll be fine.
Happy running πββοΈ π
Music helps Sarah2706, download some good positive music to listen too, and as others have said we all have good and bad runs. Youβll have better ones and youβll be surprised how your stamina will increase....stay focused, you can do this. π
