🎩 🧢 Hats off to those who ran yesterday. You are made of stronger stuff than me! The rain was awful yesterday.
I got drenched on my early morning dog walk 🐶 🐾 💦 - and after a really wet previous run, I just couldn’t face getting soaked through AGAIN! So yesterday the dog and I dried off in front of the fire 🔥 and stayed put. I did Adrienne’s yoga 🧘♀️ and the plankety plankathon, so I wasn’t completely idle.
The weather payed me back this morning though 🙄. I saw a break and got out for W7r1 😃. Within 5 minutes it started to hail 😬. My poor nose got pebble-dashed by the stuff, but fortunately, because it’s so windy, the hail came and went in bursts and the sun kept coming out. The run felt good 😊 🏃♀️.
I’m longing for the spring sunshine ☀️ 🌷 🌳 and some lovely dry runs back on my woodland paths. It can’t be long now, surely......
In the grand scheme of things a bit of hail and rain to run in is nothing compared to everyone struggling with flooded homes and businesses. I count my blessings and pray things improve for them soon.
You are brilliant....I am supposed to be starting week 4 this week but am going on holiday on Weds. I watched hail, rain and wind set in and there was no 30 min let up for me to run in and I just didn’t want to get cold and wet and risk getting a cold. But am inspired by your yoga idea so might do that instead.
The yoga is a pinned post on the Strength and Flex forum - February yoga with Adrienne. It’s a month of guided yoga sessions. They are really good. Happy holiday 😊
If we all long for it enough it will eventually come! Just imagine the posts we’ll share of our first sunny warm runs in the spring sunshine ☀️!
That’s so fantastic going out and sticking it out in the hail, hats off to you. We’ve been luckier than many here in the East, although the woodland paths are far too slippy with mud and puddles so we’re sticking to tarmac at the moment. I can’t wait for those dry warm days to run through the woods like a muntjac.

It’s taken me a while to get used to running on tarmac as my normal routes are pretty much cinder track then onto common land and woodland trails. Unfortunately they are really muddy and slippery at the moment and best avoided. My ankles were not very keen to adjust to the harder surfaces but much better now - they’ve had plenty of practice over the past few weeks! Roll on the sunshine ☀️ and muntjac deer 🦌 !
I’m sorry you were hailed on after making a break for it 💦☔️😩The weather is miserable at the moment and I can hardly credit how we’re managing to get through these winter weeks. And yet here we are. 😊
It is a real achievement.
100% I agree that this winter has been horrendous for so many and that a cold or wet half hour is insignificant compared to their experiences.
I seem to be very bad at reading the weather! I spot what I think is a break in the weather, head out and within 5-10 minutes it’s pouring or hailing or both!
Everyone deserves some sunshine now I think 🤔 💭 ☀️ 🌱🌸🌳🙏🏻
