Week 5 done yay!

Iโ€™ve not been able to come on for a few days but Iโ€™ve been plugging away at week 5 - and did run 3 this morning in glorious sunshine & dramatic sea waves ๐ŸŒŠ I started running along the seafront but spotted the park run being set up so turned tail!! Iโ€™m definitely not ready to be any where near so many amazing runners!! I felt pretty rough for the first 5 mins but settled down, I canโ€™t say I felt good, but I definitely managed it ok & tried to keep my form the whole way through - feeling pretty chuffed with myself!! Just as I slowed for the walk at the end the heavens opened with sleety rain & I got soaked - but it felt amazing!

Totally amazed that these wobbly wonky legs have just run for 20 mins!! Am very proud of them ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Anyway, on to week 6 which Iโ€™m probably more nervous about because of all the warnings about it being tricky!

Haha ' avoiding the park runners - I've also done that previously. You should be proud of yourself!

Well done! I'm in W6 and it's not easy but it's doable if you need the warnings!

Good luck!!!

Well done to you too! Thanks for letting that - will take it slow. My knee is complaining when I go up the stars after my run this morning so really hoping that settles down. Which run are you on in week 6?

Today I should have done W6R3 but real life got in the way. Tomorrow hopefully will be the day.

Thatโ€™s fantastic, just run very slow for week 6 from the start and you will be fine

I will thanks - itโ€™s tempting to try & shoot off faster but think Iโ€™m on the slow setting for the foreseeable ๐Ÿ˜†

Well done! Wk5 was probably my favourite week of the program.

Dont worry about week 6, just take it easy.

I think some people get over confident after wk5 R3 and set off too fast. For others, like me, it was the frustration of going back to interval runs. But it's all good, you'll be just fine

Thanks Mig, yes itโ€™s really exciting to see tangible progress by running for 20 minutes, doing intervals again feels a bit of a backward step, but totally trust the program - am guessing itโ€™s all about stamina building now?

The good news is that it's only 2 runs. Then you have the freedom of solid running and you'll love it :-)

Well done DevonBluebird!! Iโ€™ve also heard the warnings of W6 ๐Ÿฅด. As Iโ€™ve been advised throughout, slow & steady wins the race!!

Ha yes, the walking pace jog, itโ€™s definitely working for me! Are you week 6 next week too? Exciting!

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, perhaps those wobbly wonky legs will take you to a parkrun after you have graduated from C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพ ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank AlMorr! Have promised my brother weโ€™ll do a parkrun for my 50th at the start of April - even if Iโ€™m last Iโ€™m determined to get round gulp!! Thanks!

You won't be last, there are very nice people who go to parkruns and help other runners if they have any problems, the tail walker is last so don't worry about being last.

Just before my 16th parkrun today my running belt came lose, one of the marshals noticed me struggling to tighten it but it kept coming lose because of the angle I was trying to fix it, she came up to me and got it tightend immediately, now that is what parkruns are all about, when you go to a parkrun you will find all the runners and volunteers are very helpful and friendly.

Awesome job ๐Ÿ‘well done, week 6 was a good one for me just continue to do what you've been doing and you'll be fine, you're doing great ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ’ช
