Iโve not been able to come on for a few days but Iโve been plugging away at week 5 - and did run 3 this morning in glorious sunshine & dramatic sea waves ๐ I started running along the seafront but spotted the park run being set up so turned tail!! Iโm definitely not ready to be any where near so many amazing runners!! I felt pretty rough for the first 5 mins but settled down, I canโt say I felt good, but I definitely managed it ok & tried to keep my form the whole way through - feeling pretty chuffed with myself!! Just as I slowed for the walk at the end the heavens opened with sleety rain & I got soaked - but it felt amazing!
Totally amazed that these wobbly wonky legs have just run for 20 mins!! Am very proud of them ๐๐โโ๏ธ
Anyway, on to week 6 which Iโm probably more nervous about because of all the warnings about it being tricky!

Well done to you too! Thanks for letting that - will take it slow. My knee is complaining when I go up the stars after my run this morning so really hoping that settles down. Which run are you on in week 6?
Well done! Wk5 was probably my favourite week of the program.
Dont worry about week 6, just take it easy.
I think some people get over confident after wk5 R3 and set off too fast. For others, like me, it was the frustration of going back to interval runs. But it's all good, you'll be just fine
Thanks Mig, yes itโs really exciting to see tangible progress by running for 20 minutes, doing intervals again feels a bit of a backward step, but totally trust the program - am guessing itโs all about stamina building now?
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, perhaps those wobbly wonky legs will take you to a parkrun after you have graduated from C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran ๐๐พ ๐
Thank AlMorr! Have promised my brother weโll do a parkrun for my 50th at the start of April - even if Iโm last Iโm determined to get round gulp!! Thanks!
You won't be last, there are very nice people who go to parkruns and help other runners if they have any problems, the tail walker is last so don't worry about being last.
Just before my 16th parkrun today my running belt came lose, one of the marshals noticed me struggling to tighten it but it kept coming lose because of the angle I was trying to fix it, she came up to me and got it tightend immediately, now that is what parkruns are all about, when you go to a parkrun you will find all the runners and volunteers are very helpful and friendly.
Awesome job ๐well done, week 6 was a good one for me just continue to do what you've been doing and you'll be fine, you're doing great ๐๐ช
