A glance out of the window earlier this afternoon and amazingly a glimpse of blue sky, that’s it running kit on and out the door!!!
Ventured to one of my local woods today, the beautiful Penllergare Valleys Woods and a bit of W7 trail running. Wow, it was amazing, muddy, wet, muddy, wet and again mostly muddy but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Covered a little less distance than R1 and R2 of W7 but mainly as I was running on a fairly uneven surface and dodging huge puddles and muddy streams where there were previously paths!!! I tried out some winter weight leggings tonight and they were great, my legs felt much better, warm and because they are slightly compressed made the whole experience more comfortable, no aches or niggles en-route.
Onwards to W8 next week, probably on Tues so rest tomorrow and back to work...
Post run slice of vegan cheesecake to recover, nuts are protein right??? 😉😉😉

Well done for getting out! Your run sounds like an adventure I looked at winter leggings at Decathlon last week but I don't want to buy any running clothes until I get much further into the program (W4 R1 tomorrow). It's good to know that they're worth buying though.
And did you make the cheesecake? Have you a link to the recipe?
The winter leggings were great, toasty and I think they helped warm my muscles. I was given them by a friend who no longer wanted 2 pairs of them so lucky me! I only bought a few bits to get me started, a thin running windproof jacket, some decent socks, running leggings and by week 4 I invested in some decent running shoes after having my gait analysis done at a local shop. I had lots of lightweight breathable clothing as I hike a lot.
My wife made the cheescake as an experiment, neither of us are vegan but both are vegetarian and have been for 30+ yrs so we are trying out more purely vegan recipes. She wasnt overly keen but I loved it!!
Lots of nice stuff on there but we changed some ingredients as some wecouldnt get (activated buckwheat???)
Good luck with the programme!!!
Cake looks lush! We had vegan potato, leek and “facon” after my 7 r2 today!
And wow that break in the weather, what a gift. I think you saw my post already but it absolutely hosed down while we were eating dinner. Phew for a well timed run (for us both!)
