So after a succession of injuries which kept me out of action for about a month yesterday was my first real run for a while.
The sun was out and it was a crisp and beautiful winter morning. With my husband as pacemaker we set off along muddy country lanes. At one point the path was so flooded that we had to crawl under barbed wire fencing into an adjoining field. Needless to say my pink running shoes are now dark brown and my feet were wet for most of the run. But the good news is I can still run and l did so for 40 minutes. Amazing that I haven't lost the stamina i have gained since August. So if you're on the injury couch, don't despair. Happy running to everyone here
I have had some knee niggles and had a short rest but I am trying to stick to soft ground - grass and mud for my runs to avoid problems again. So far so good but at this time of year, soft ground often leads me to sloshy mud and water so my trail shoes again are caked in mud - fun though and best for my old legs, so it has to be done LOL
