Can people let me know what they do to minimise inevitable symptoms when running through puddles or wet muddy sections?
I know that we cannot avoid our shoes getting wet (my Brooks Ghost 6 shoes are a lovely shade of brown) but the shock as the water soaks my socks/feet is off-putting.
Does anyone out there line their shoes, for example?
Of course I do weave around trying to avoid puddles where I can but sometimes it is unavoidable.
Thanks in advance.

You can get rubber socks called "skins" to keep your feet dry. Your running shoes are designed to allow water to pass through so you're not running in squelchy shoes. To keep your feet dry some folks like to get these socks that are like a second skin. I should think that would reduce the cold shock that you inevitably feel. I like to wear full length running pants as I hate muddy, wet, cold legs.
Oh!!! I find it impossible to run around puddles - they attract me like a magnet - I love the wet squishy squelchy feet feeling and getting muddy thing - but I am a little strange hop-a-long - you go for the rubber socks )
