Well after a bad night food and drink wise, up nice and early, it just did not work for me today. It was also my first run outside, not sure of route and came across a hill! What are they all about? The first 10min run I realised it was not going to work kept going for a bit, hit the hill, and gave up, nearly went back to the b&b but decided to keep going and did a bit of running and a bit of walking pushing myself to go a bit further. I will now have 2 days rest reset my body and brain and try again, feel surprisingly happy about the half hour though I get hot sweaty and out of breath, I got something out of it and will help with any future obstacles.
W6R2 Fail.: Well after a bad night food and... - Couch to 5K
W6R2 Fail.
You haven't failed because you haven't given up.
You had a learning experience.
It takes most people quite a few runs to become used to outdoors after a treadmill.
Stick with it.
Best to think of it as a 'practice'. 😊
I do think there is a difference running indoors vs. outdoors. One way forward is to drop back a Week until you are completing the run again and move forward from there.
It doesn't sound like a fail to me. After a less than ideal day, you got yourself up and outside for the first time. Not only a first time outside (which I found a lot harder) but you encountered your first hill. Did you quit? Nope, you kept trying. And you're already thinking about resting and getting out and doing it again. That is definitely not failing! Go you!👏
Well done T2 - no failures here thank you! You got out there and ran and when it got tough you kept going, and that’s worth celebrating. What are hills about? Well, they generally come in 2 types - uphill or downhill. Most are made up of both parts but runners don’t always use both - it depends what direction they’re going in; hope that clarifies things! Enjoy your next outing, you’ll smash it I’m sure!
You did pretty well considering it was your first outdoor run! Well done.
Well done on a good practice run 👍😁
Yes, well done you but can you remove that inappropriate 'F' word please because you failed nothing. You got out there (for your first outside run), despite the fact that you (maybe) over-indulged last night, you encountered your first hill (a natural obstacle in outside running with variable intensities), and instead of taking the easy way out, stopping and slinking back to your B & B you carried on for the whole half hour. And guess what? You found out that you enjoyed it, and you're feeling happy that you did it, that wouldn't have happened if you'd wimped out would it? Plus, you've learned from your experience, so another worth-while outcome, well done again.
How can it be a fail if you re on week 6 . That means you ve suceeded for 66% of the c25k ........ which is also closer to 75% than 50% . Think about it 🤷♀️ ...💪👍👏
A good practice run, enjoy the rest days and you’ll smash it 👍💪
I did this run this morning. Found it hard again but I completed it. Was hoping to find my natural comfortable pace but yet again I didnt. Wierdly, its my arms I am struggling with!!! I just cant find a comfortable position to hold them in. Have tried floppy (dont like) and have tried right angled elbows (feels too tense). What do other people do with their arms???
Running outdoors for the first time on an unfamiliar route? I don't call that a fail, I call it a helluva challenge! 😁
You walked some, you ran some, you sweated & got out of breath - sounds like a win to me 😊
And you're already talking about doing it again, so you haven't given up.
You'll smash it next time ☺ 🏃 👍
