I did not want to run tonight, woke up feeling under the weather all snuffly and super tired so have dreamt of bed all day. Sat in my car when I got home from work for a good 15 mins putting it off. I text my dad saying I needed some motivation - he promptly told me to “MOVE NOW” which seemed to help!!!
Eventually came in, got changed and set off.
Literally the worst run I’ve had so far... I did complete it thankfully... but those bloody gremlins nattering away up there, they’ve multiplied.... and they appeared before I’d even started and remained right till the end... I even had to have a lie down on the stairs when I got home - the cat wasn’t sure what was going on!
Honestly the worst mental battle I’ve had in the entire programme... I almost stopped a million times...
how I completed that run I have no clue whatsoever 🤷🏻♀️ it’s an absolute miracle!
Let’s hope the next run feels better!! 😴

It just goes like this sometimes. I really didn’t want to run tonight and I feel tired now I’ve finished. I think the main thing is to keep going. X
Great job... it was tough, you were tougher... and the gremlins that came out in force to try and stop you just got to see an awesome runner getting the job done.
Well done for pushing through such a tough run. I do hope that the last 2 will be better, especially R3. Is it possible to slow down at all? It may help 👍😁
It was my shins aching really bad today that was my main problem... I did try slowing down but it just seemed to make it worse and the slower I got the more I just wanted to stop, so I just had to push through. May be something to do with my new, not so comfortable trainers - perhaps I’ll do my next run in old trainers and see! I’d rather have squished toes than a repeat of today!
Could it be shin splints? Somebody, I think it’s Buddy34 regularly posts a video of how to deal with shin splints. We don’t want you jinxed for the last 2 runs
It happens to us all! I have a constant internal monologue going on trying to argue why I shouldn't be doing this. It's usually in the first 5 minutes and then I'm into it but it can come back any time. My usual response is to just give it two more minutes and then I'm "usually" OK. I've never once given in as far as I can remember but it still happens and I just focus on how great I will feel once It's over and I've won again
Haha, our minds are so silly! I usually get it for the first 5/10 mins and manage to get through it by repeating I love running and similar things then I seem to start enjoying it!
It’s weird I don’t seem to be getting such a Runner’s high after these longer runs, not like I did on the earlier weeks of the programme!
Yeah. A 30 minute run and a battle with the Gremlins...you are well and truly ready for your graduation. If you can do all this when you are feeling so bad then you have the required "stuff". Well done you...watching out for the next post. 🏃♀️👀👍
